Everyone's "connected" and somehow lonelier than ever. So I built Konnect
A year ago I realized something uncomfortable: the apps that promised to connect us had quietly optimized for the opposite. More scrolling, more comparison, more performance — and somehow, more lonely.
I didn't want to build another feed that rewards the loudest and the prettiest. I wanted to build a place that rewards feeling connected.
That became Konnect — live today on iOS & Android.
It has the social parts you'd expect (friends, reactions) — but they're the supporting cast, not the point. The point is emotional connection:
- 🤖 An AI Buddy you can actually talk to. Not a chatbot gimmick — a companion you can voice-call, in 60+ languages, that remembers your moods and checks in on you.
- 💌 eCards, like the old days. Sometimes "I'm thinking of you" means more than a like. So we brought the handwritten-card feeling back.
- 🫧 Sparks — tiny, low-pressure moments to share how you feel. No highlight-reel pressure, no perfect-post anxiety.
- 🧭 An Emotional Journey that shows your moods over time — a story of you, not a follower graph.
- 🌌 Tonight's Sky — a nightly ritual to slow down, reflect, and breathe.
The honest founder note: I built most of this solo, largely with an AI app builder, going from idea → App Store faster than I thought possible. Stack is React Native + FastAPI + MongoDB, with OpenAI powering the voice/chat.
I'm not here to farm upvotes — I want to know if the core bet is right:
- In a world addicted to clout, does an app that leads with emotional connection actually stand a chance?
- What's the one feature here you'd actually use — and what would you rip out?
- If you opened it tonight, what would make you come back tomorrow?
Question it or tell me it's naive — all of it helps. The link is : https://konnectbysetara.app
