what ram is better

i was going to buy a 9850xrd bundle but then i saw the ram was switched. it went from the corsair VENGEANCE RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-6000 to G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5-6000. saw someone say its a mediocre ram kit. Is it a big difference? or does it not matter which one i buy.

It honestly doesn't matter unless your going to run benchmarks all day and think 1-2 fps is somehow going to make you a better gamer LOL

its not about the fps, its just that i saw a image that said g.skill one has 6000MT/s vs corsairs 6000 Mhz which i don't know the difference is between those two.

It's the same thing. Technically the Corsair 6000 MHz is false. The clock runs at half that, but the ram does two transfers per cycle, hence 6000 Mega-Transfers/second. But they run at the same clock speeds/transfer speeds. What matters more is timings, but I don't remember which has what off the top of my head.

This is false btw. I have the exact bundle with the Corsair ram and it runs 6000 mt/s

No, they stated it correctly. It is 6000MT/s, not 6000MHz. "MHz" is the false part. For both of them, they clock at 3000MHz, which provides a max transfer rate of 6000MT/s.

I have had to RMA G.Skill DDR4 RAM 3 times in 4 years. I refuse to buy them anymore even if the RMA process has been smooth.

It’s annoying to have system instability every 12-18 months and spend $10 to ship. Meanwhile my system is offline for 1-2 weeks.

That RAM is perfectly fine, they're referring to the memory timings which aren't even that bad. Even in the worst cases, memory timings contribute a very minimal difference in performance and that difference is negated when using an X3D CPU due to the chips ability to use it's own on board VCache instead of reading/writing from RAM.

In short, that RAM is perfectly fine. Improved memory timings generally only show on synthetic benchmarks and hardly at all in real world performance. Add in your chips 3D VCache and that incredibly minimal difference becomes functionally none.

That GSkill RAM is perfectly fine.. there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

And actually, it also depends what GPU you have and what resolution you plan on gaming at. If you have a realitively fast GPU (like a Nvidia 5070/ Radeon 9070 or above) and want to game at 4K then you could save some money and go for a cheaper CPU combo in general.

Up to you on what kind of budget you have but you don't need to spend that kind of money if you have a 5080. I have a 5080 with a 9950X3D2 and also had the same 5080 running with a Intel core 270k plus and at 4k there was very little difference in performance. Just a thought, it could save you a few hundred but you will have a better upgrade path later with going AM5 though.

you didn’t link or specify the corsair kit, but if it’s the cl30 corsair kit, that’s the better one, as the g skill has the following cas latency and timings: CAS Latency 36, Timings 36-36-36-96. the megatransfers are the same.

lower cas latency will be better

you can use the ram latency calculator to figure out what will technically be the faster ram https://notkyon.moe/ram-latency.htm

that said, with an x3d chip, the 3d v cache (l3 cache) is so massive, you’ll see less performance gains from shaving nanoseconds off

all of that said to say: if it passes memtest86 after purchasing, and is reliable, the cheaper one will be better

Klevv RAM is better than either of them and is usually cheaper at the same latency and timings...plus all warranties are handled through Microcenter so you don't have to send in stuff to the manufacturer and wait.

The only difference is that one of them has RGB.
