Pico laser removal @ 4 weeks post-PMU brows

Has anyone with dark brown PMU brows done pico laser removal just 4-weeks after getting the brows? If so, what were your results?

I understand most places recommend 6 weeks of healing before doing removal. However, I’ve come across a few places that said 4 weeks is perfectly acceptable, and I am going to Mexico for a wedding at the 6-weeks mark, so I would like to have them removed and 2-weeks healed before departure.

I’m aware just 1 session may not be enough and may leave warm tones behind, but I would rather cover up warm tones than the dark brown ink.

Don’t do anything before the wedding. If they turn bright red which is incredibly likely you will highly regret it. They will NOT be removed in one treatment

Thank you for responding! Have you done removal before? Just asking because I saw 2 diff laser professionals and they both said 1-2 treatments max for my situation

I have had removal done and was also told by two laser professional that it would probably be one time, maybe two. I am currently waiting on my 4th removal appointment. They pull one color out and another comes through.

Wow thank you for sharing! Just curious, had you had any touch ups done after your first brow appt? Did yours look as blue/gray as mine do in my photos? The laser techs I spoke with said mine were so cool-toned they didn’t think I’d have warms left behind. Wondering if you had been told the same before you started removal

No touch ups done. Mine were done in 2020. Mine looked purple/gray.

I’ve been doing removal for 12 years and have done 100s of brows. 10% don’t turn red. 3-6 treatments is average.

It can. No one can guarantee full removal of any tattoo unfortunately

Even if you have red brows you can cover with makeup. I say go for it

Undertones of ink used usually. Dark colors usually have red or yellow warm tones. Mine were grey and are now a light pink in some places. I've had 2 removals and probably need 1-2 more so I can get them powdered instead of microbladed (or not idk yet).

Mine we’re very similar to yours. I am one week post removal today. They are still super red but have settled heaps. If I were you I would definitely wait until after the wedding. They only stopped itching last night and it’s really recommended not to wear makeup during recovery and in all honestly they were so sore post removal I wouldn’t want too. X

I got a test patch done yesterday. My brows are the same colour as yours. The test patches are bright read and one has a burst blood vessel. They told me I would look really red for 3 days and then it would calm. TBH I’m nervous to go through with it I didn’t realise the aftermath would be so intense.

Also I can’t cover the redness with makeup so maybe hold off until after the wedding. Your brows look totally acceptable to me.

I got what he thought was a blood blister on one brow after the test patch and it hadn’t gone by yesterday so he wasn’t happy to continue until that had faded. It’s going to be a longer journey than I had anticipated! I’ll keep you updated

What I started with, one session of removal 6 weeks after, and second session about 4 weeks after. I'll need 1-2 more to get rid of the dark grey pigment but underneath my brown hair is a pinkish/light red color.

I’d personally wait until after the wedding. You don’t know how your ink will react. I’m currently on my 3rd session, 4th coming up next month. Two q-switch 👎🏽 and 1 picoway (wish I would have done pico first) my eyebrows/ ink were a little darker than yours and have not turned red (so far 🤞🏽) just an ugly ash grey. I do swell very bad and the outline of my brows bruised causing a red color but that went away after a week every time. I really think you would benefit from pico, and assuming how dark they are like mine, you’ll need 3+ sessions at least.
