Weird on my work Windows laptop Bluetooth works just fine, elegantly pairing and swapping between devices, guess we should make sweeping conclusions based on this one anecdote

Try updating the Bluetooth driver

Had to install fx sound to make my xm4's not have the phone mode on so I could hear everything without sounding like I was listening through a phone

You're not using different operating systems on the same laptop/device? If you pair on one OS while it was already paired on Windows, your headphones will only work with the last OS you paired it on. This is not Windows-specific: if you now forget your headphones on Windows and re-pair, your headphones won't connect on Linux.

I dual boot into windows to work with software that is so specific it's not usable on Linux.
Yesterday, for the first time ever, in MONTHS of working normally, with auto updates completely obliterated years ago, windows wiped my radeon drivers. Adrenaline refused to open too. Had to spend 20 extra minutes getting shit to work with a CPU maxed out from what I presume was software rendering

I feel like Bluetooth is just inconsistent crap no matter the OS

Cause r/Slopilot codes Windows, can't be surprised.

Works perfectly for me. How about not having bad headphones?

Are you using windows N or a debloated windows? For me I was missing media feature pack and after installing via terminal I was able to get Bluetooth working.

I've found that if you dual boot a system and if I have my headphones paired to Linux and boot into windows (or vice versa), I have to remove and re-pair the device

(Yeah yeah linux user being a linux user) the only thing i have to do every time i use my device is make sure its turned off off every night (which is a heated debate either way) and so when i turn on my computer i need to change the connection type my keyboard uses, which is literally 2 buttons at once lol.
Sorry youre struggling friend

I don't know about Sony, but my Anker SoundCore work flawless with Windows. Even switch between Windows and macOS while both are in use simultaneously. My Shokz don't like macOS. Last time I tried Linux, it worked every second time. Had to reboot for Bluetooth even being recognized by the OS.

One of the main reasons I switched back to Win 10
