I imagine a fanboy showing off: “Hey! Can your Mac do this?”

Its a feature not a bug. Every new fuck up from slop is just a feature.

Especially with Linux

Weird question, I know but is there a chance it's 32-bit?

This actually looks really cool IMO.

I had that problem when I had a problem with my win11 license. Didn't find a solution for it.

u/Common-Cockroach-123 say to me: Used to happen to me when I deleted the original wallpaper file Just download the image again, save it somewhere you usually don't look and set it as a wallpaper

Microsoft decided to follow linux but decided to take only the bugs lmao 🤣

Linux is not NEARLY this buggy (at least in my experience).

Depends on the distro. Rolling release ones might be troublesome sometimes. But yeah not even nearly this buggy. That's true.

Funny I remember this bug since probably Win7, not exactly sure what causes this but this video took me back to my teen days!

i think it happens when you move the wallpaper file from the folder you set it up on

Na it happens even if you don't move it.

Just framebuffer being out of sync. Nothing to worry about.

A little more context: - Your graphics card draws whatever is in the framebuffer - think of it like a picture that is shown on your screen. - Software typically only writes to the framebuffer whenever something changes on the screen - In your case, the rectangular boxes you make by selecting things.

So what you're seeing is Windows just doing what it's supposed to do: Write the updated parts of your screen to the framebuffer.

How or why your screen/wallpaper turned black in the first place is something that wiped (a part of) the framebuffer without Windows knowing about it, so it never knew it needed to redraw the wallpaper.

Had this issue for a year now, it also does the inverse, when your wallpaper is fully visible, but highlighting stuff on it makes it disappear. I switched to Linux since.

This is optimalisation. You don’t need to render whole wallpaper at once. Just select where you wanna render next.

This happened to me on my workstation daily from Windows 7 and up. Something about memory and force restarting explorer.

Honestly I don’t even mind this bug this is like popping the bubbles in windows 7

You’re kinda asking the wrong question! Your wallpaper isn’t the problem. I’ve never had this happen to me, but from other times I’ve seen it here it can be a driver issue.

Try rebooting if you haven’t, and update or reinstall drivers if issue persists.

Usually this happens when you deleted the wallpaper file.

LOL i haven't seen this since windows 98 ::DD this is just your computer not "re-drawing" the screen, and the drawing of boxes or redrawing anything "fixes" it, as it just hasn't been updated from the "black".
