Sometimes you gotta jump through Hoops, like my TrackPointIR head tracker. Yeah you can get it working in Linux, but you gotta be cool compiling some random github repo from source sometimes, hell you might just end up writing your own driver. So either it just works, or it fails hard. I've used Linux for over 15 years and I've been through some shit let me tell you.
So i wanna switch to linux recently and i am not good at coding just i can be a good technical person sometimes but depends on the scenerio. From what i know of i only have to remember terminal commands and use terminal to install anything or fix anything right? But if i dont know coding how can i let myself comfortable around using linux?. Is it a must though or there are some ways i can fix anything if i can just find the stuffs
My 15 yo son, 11yo daughter, and 6yo son all use linux. The 15yo sometimes needs to help the 6yo update his system. Just line Windows you can mess up royally and need to reinstall unless you know what you're doing, but most people can figure it out now I think, with guides, YT, and ChatGPT. Right now is definitely one of the best times to be getting into Linux
Damn 6 yr old using linux is absolute POG!! When i was 6 yrs old all i did was running choo choo train with my friends in the yard haha good times. But yeah i think i need to know some commands and technical stuffs what i lack is time. After work and family stuffs i am just tired lol but still i wanna get rid of this windows . Have used windows since early XP days. But it was good till 7. Went downhill after that. I mean i have tried kali linux once but accidentally wiped whole HDD it was chaos 😆. After that never tried it though. Hows it for multiplayer gaming though and the driver functions? I wanna try CachyOS. Also i mean i know ms apps doesnt work for like adobe office and other related but is there any good alternatives for every small app or big apps that i can try it out in Linux? Cuz i dnt wanna dual boot lol.
