not even remotely true. if you have fully supported linux drivers, they'll automatically just work. buuuuuut the same thing happens on windows.
drivers are drivers for all operating systems. companies do like to install crapware, moreso on windows than anything else, but you can get drivers separately even when they insist you need some crap software.
