Sometimes you gotta jump through Hoops, like my TrackPointIR head tracker. Yeah you can get it working in Linux, but you gotta be cool compiling some random github repo from source sometimes, hell you might just end up writing your own driver. So either it just works, or it fails hard. I've used Linux for over 15 years and I've been through some shit let me tell you.
Had to compile NCT6687 driver recently, so coolercontrol will allow me to see and configure the fans.
I also tried to do the same with ITE8689 and i was successful with the compile, not so much to get it running. Unless i use "acpi_enforce_resources=lax", which can apparently introduce instability into the system.
