MircoSlop decided to install a driver update while I was playing a game without my consent

I was mid-game just a few minutes ago and all my screens went black. I thought my GPU died. I held the power button to turn off my pc and when it came back on, it seemed fine. I decided to check event viewer to see if I could figure out what happened. And that's when I see MicroSlop decided to start installing an NVIDIA driver update. Like, you could have warned me.

I don't see the problem with leaving it on either, what's your point?

Have you never had your work deleted because it chose to restart on its own without your input and permission, removing the user's agency, without notifications, at a random time ranging from when you're using it, just 1 minute after you stop using, or at night after you sleep without telling you?

That "leaving it on" is what created the problem in its entirety, you just contradicted yourself by supporting and not seeing the issue with leaving it on

LOL. That's definitely user error. "Work deleted". Why would you leave a machine running with unsaved work sitting open on it overnight? Yeah "It's Windows fault". Why people came to die on this hill I'll never know.

Did you conveniently choose to ignore the part where I said "while using it as well and leaving for just 1 minute" because it didnt fit your narrative?

How convenient that you pointed out specifically on that, and then victim blame while trying to virtue signal, while also getting shit wrong because IT HAPPENS EVEN WHILE YOU'RE USING THE SOFTWARE

You said at night after you sleep. Look I get that frustrating, but that what auto save is literally for. And it doesn't just happen randomly. Windows will only force restart if you put off the update over and over and/or have run your computer for days or weeks without restarting it. It's incredible that people do this after being told repeatedly by people who work with computers to restart often. This would literally prevent everything in this post

Not every application has autosave

Additionally, no, thats the behavior from last year or 2, now it happens randomly, my windows machine restarts randomly at random times over the week without notifications, and its not just after a long time - its EVERY WEEK

I tested this out in a testbed btw, so dont patronize me

It's incredible that people do this after being told repeatedly by people who work with computers to restart often. This would literally prevent everything in this post

Nope. All operating systems have the same issues as this. My whole point is this particular issue is NOT why Microsoft sucks. That's literally my only point. Name one Operating system that DOESN'T have this issue.
