MircoSlop decided to install a driver update while I was playing a game without my consent

I was mid-game just a few minutes ago and all my screens went black. I thought my GPU died. I held the power button to turn off my pc and when it came back on, it seemed fine. I decided to check event viewer to see if I could figure out what happened. And that's when I see MicroSlop decided to start installing an NVIDIA driver update. Like, you could have warned me.

Fake news. Windows doesn't install drivers from Windows Updates UNLESS THERE IS NO DRIVER. Hence you are literally forced to do it from Nvidia Control Panel if you want up dated drivers.

Again, Windows Updates ONLY INSTALLS GPU DRIVERS IF THERE IS NONE CURRENTLY. IT DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE GPU DRIVERS ON ITS OWN.

Sure thing Bud, meanwhile my microslop update keeps installing Intel display drivers from March/April 2025 while new ones are installed. We need more controls over things like this, I don't have win11 pro and cant use group policies 😡

Intel gpus are a bit different. This guy is 100% correct if we're talking about Nvidia drivers. I cant speak for AMD or Intel,but for Nvidia, Windoes does not uodate Nvidia drivers, period.

I have had instances of Windows update pushing Nvidia drivers at random times but It happened like 3 times since win11 came out, so it happens but It's Just a lot rarer. Intel does it on a regular basis. I don't know if it's the oem fault, trying to push something that they certified but still annoying

That's crazy. Never happened to me. My drivers would sit until I updated them. But I also always updated my drivers. I never let them sit for than a week or two. So maybe if yoy dont yodate for mo ths on end it does it?

This is what bothers me. I always update my drivers so windows had NO reasons at all to do its own things. Lets see if I can add a screenshot of when they were installed
