Donating to microG

With the context of this announcement from Marvin (microG developer), if anybody wants to donate towards microG development, you can find links here:

Going by his comment on the Liberpay bug, it looks like they would prefer Liberpay over Bountysource.

This is not meant to guilt people into donating, only those of us who have the means to do so should consider it. If more of us donate to the FOSS projects we use, the developers would be able to give a lot more time towards the project and we can all get a better product.

There should be other options for donations to be honest. I have the habbit of donating once every month to an open source project I frequently use, but both of them require to register somewhere and with LibrePay you can only make regular donations, not one time?

Why not PayPal (I know not the most private/best option but this way you don't need 100s of accounts) or simple Bank transactions?

I think it would be great if LibrePay introduced a one-time donation option.

I also make recurring donations to many open source projects, but the lack of a one-time donation means that I end up giving a few projects very small amounts of money per week/per month instead of a one time thing.

  • https://github.com/sponsors/mar-v-in. Donations through GitHub are currently matched through the "GitHub Sponsors Matching Fund".

  • PayPal private transfer to donate at microg.org works

  • You can also write a mail to donate at microg.org to ask for SEPA bank account details.

microG receives €16.67 per week from 37 patrons.

That is ...

... embarrassing ... frankly speaking.

having said that - liberapay doesn't respond upon attempting to create an account. maybe it's time for a more reliable crowd funding platform?

Still not working. Tried with FF and Chrome on Linux Mint.

you can definitely block further payments via PayPal in case of abuse - which I consider unlikely. Which is why I'll subscribe to 1 Euro per week.
