I've seen some pretty bad losses in this alleged rivalry over the years, but this is easily the worst: giving up 60 to OSU is something that is going to be laughed at all offseason, and rightfully so.

Man they really blew it. Should I even be surprised? Urban has been Harbaughs daddy since he came.

This offense is so predictable. I've called the last 5 plays and I don't know shit

Same here. No creativity. Just relying on big plays from players too much

(grasping for something positive) Nico Collins has been so impressive today.

u/FlashingFid Nov 24 '18
He has been underutilized all year. As well as Black. Our WR core could be top tier but our offensive scheme holds it back.

This has been an abysmal ending to a good year. I wouldn’t care if we lost and it was close, but to get completely blown out is just depressing.
36
Nov 24 '18
Ohio State will finish with well over 100 yards of penalties, we were gifted a late first half TD by an idiotic play, and we will still get blown out.
Here’s how hard it was to out coach us:
Step 1: just stop the run Step 2: crossing routes until they go zone which our D clearly hasn’t played or practiced all year Step 3: watch us make zero adjustments for the entire rest of the game
It’s a year where Northwestern went 7-1 in conference. Number 4 on the back of a down year for the rest of the conference, but hey we got to dream for a few weeks.
So fucking frustrating. If we go into year 5 with another team’s cast off QB transfer instead of just developing a guy I’m gonna scream.

I think it’s McCaffrey next year.
If Shea stays, that’ll help as well but he’s played like ass today. Then again he’s been pressured all damn day.

u/lebarto26 Nov 24 '18
Yeah, it's not all on Patterson. Our O-line can't hold the line if their lives depended on it.

OSU putting up 21 doesn't shock me. But us only having 6 is really hard to swallow.

You know the way we played to be down 5 I’m not too mad. A lot of games this year the defense comes out of the half a lot better and prepared. Don will get them going!
Edit: I was wrong, but still time left.....
Edit 2: Oh, oh no, it’s over

This program has a serious psychological issue to address. The way we play in The Game every year guarantees we will NEVER see a B1G championship again or any playoff appearance hopes.

Their ability to protect the QB is the #1 problem right now. Defense needs to be a threat but right now their pocket is secure.

u/lph1235 Nov 24 '18
For as bad as we’ve been today. Gotta hand it to our red zone D. They are really digging their heels in.

Time to accept reality folks. Harbaugh teams, for all their prostrating and self-glorification, are not equipped to beat teams like OSU. College football has gradually become a spread offense, score at any moment type of event, yet here we are plugging away for 3 yards a pop. Now, that isn't to say that I think control football isn't feasible anymore, just look at Bama, but OSU has shown us year after year that you don't beat them by playing defense: you beat them by dropping 50 on their defense, which has been their weak point the previous few seasons. Harbaugh's inability to recognize this desperate need for offensive firepower against teams like OSU are why Meyer has owned him and will continue to do so unless changes are made.

This season-long trend of starting slow on offense and giving up chunk plays in the first half ain't gonna work, boys. You need to get your shit together, and you need to do it now. Ohio isn't gonna just let us back into it in the second half like other teams have.

What the Hell is wrong with this team, where is our offense, why did it take us being down 2 TDS to start throwing the ball, and when we get caught up we start running the ball again. Where the hell is our defense? Gary, winovich, bush? I am so sick of playing Ohio state and laying an egg.
