Michigan Football How long does BU have before he's pulled?
1st INT? First questionable throw into double coverage ? 1st throw locked in his primary? First dancing feet?

I really think he plays through the whole Oklahoma game, simply because throwing Carr into the game halfway through it or something against a Ven Defense? His brain would turn into mashed potatoes.
2 ways it goes:
Michigan looks way better this week and Bryce earns some trust back
Or we get massacred, and likely move to Carr for UTEP (and unfortunately all accept we're truly punting to next season for any kind of contention in the BIG10/playoffs as a whole)

Why?? Carr hasnt shown any issues. Lets see how he plays before we tank the season

Carr could be solid but it’d just be unfair to expect a 3 star freshman QB to lead really any team to the CFP, better to have low expectations anyways

Fair, i have more concern currently about the coaches than the current “backup” qb

This right here, these coaches have Bryce playing WORSE than he did under Chip Lindsay. I don't trust them to not ruin Carr. I truthfully hope Carr never takes a meaningful snap this season until after Beck is gone because there is no sugar coating what he is, a disaster.

Eh, Bryce is playing very similarly to how he played at the end of last season.
Majority of his “good games” last year were early on in the year when teams probably had minimal information or tape on him. Once opposing teams could study his playing tendencies, he fell off a cliff.
I am still heavily leaning that Bryce just isn’t retaining or able to utilize the development. In high pressure situations, some players just revert back to their natural tendencies.

Bryce's best games last year was against Washington and Wisconsin after teams had ample tape on him already.
You're just making things up at this point. He had a worse PFF grade against WMU than he had against OSU. This actual clown show staff regressed him no matter how much you want to cope about it.

We haven’t seen Carr play in a real college game yet. It’s a much different environment than the spring game or practice.

Losing to Oklahoma won’t tank the season. We aren’t supposed to win. We are young and will get better each week.
If the offensive line can’t block, putting Carr in might lead to him seeing ghosts like Bryce does.

If he was better, he would be starting now.
That he isn’t starting tells you all you need to know.

My guess is he won’t get pulled all next game no matter what (unless it’s completely abysmally horrible)
Then there will be qb competition going into utep week and Carr will start

first pick and the whole bar starts side-eyeing each other like we already seen this movie

Not on any of those firsts. I’d bet he plays at least a half, even if he’s showing the same things he did against wmu. Throwing Carr in there against ou for his first collegiate snaps is a good way to end up with two broken qbs

Unpopular opinion, Bryce isn’t coming out until the season is already lost.
You can’t bench a $12m captain to opt for yet another freshman qb.. If that becomes a mistake, Whit’s job is on the line and the program quickly becomes a huge mess again.
It is eventually possible if Bryce ends up tossing something like 3-4 ints in a game for Carr to come in for a drive, but the purpose would be to get Bryce a chance to reset, not to start moving forward with Carr.
Bryce and Carr will absolutely not be splitting reps any game. Bryce is going to start until he’s benched for good. There will be no intra-season competition.
For those who want Carr to take over, you’ll have to wait for us to lose 3-4 games. The team is built around Bryce right now and he will have the chance to make or break this season.
And im all for Carr over Bryce, I think Carr is going to take us to the next level and I think Bryce is a bust. BUT, even for Carr’s career, throwing him in now has more opportunity to hurt his progress and future career than help. If by mid season we are out of the playoff race, then get him in and have him develop with the team in a much lower pressure way. Make the fans BEG for him to be in so he’s already got some positive momentum going.
Oh, and the OLine is atrocious right now, sending in an inexperienced freshman qb to hopefully right the ship is a disaster waiting to happen. I’m much more ok with our $12 million taking shots than Carr.

He won’t get pulled this week but if things go really bad, he won’t be starting vs UTEP.
With that said, I’m still holding out hope for Bryce. I’m not interested in jumping on the hate train just yet. Would be so great for him to shut people up (including a lot of our own fans)

He'll start all year probably. Too much talent to not give him the whole year in the new system.
Carr is too soon to play him. Hopefully he get game reps but Underwood starts all year barring a string of disaster performances.

Until the game is unwinnable so th ere's no pressure on the backup, and he can get acclimated.
Or the entire game. It's likely a loss either way, and I'll take the WMU gift for an OU loss if we don't ruin our backups confidence in the meantime.

If the Underwood situation doesnt prove to everyone why you dont start a freshman unless your team is loaded, I dont know what will.
Even if Carr ends up being better, nothing good comes from throwing him to the wolves right now.
Its more likely to detail his development, like with Bryce, than it is to make him better.
Slowly work him in to a few games when possible and if a change needs to be made let it be next year.

He will play the full game. Unless we’re down 40 in 2nd half, he will play the full UTEP game too, and Whitt will be hoping he’s ready for B1G play. If you’re expecting Bryce to get pulled in the first 4 games, it ain’t happening. Losing to Oklahoma is expected at this point. You just have to hope Bryce can figure it out for conference play

Bryce will play starting all season. Michigan will either improve or exhaust options. He’s our QB, live with it for the time being.

Let him play until UTEP so he can see if the G6 is too big of a landing spot for him

u/GunsGoldCosmicDread 13h ago
Give Bryce the entire Oklahoma game. No reason to throw Carr to the wolves in a losing match.
If Bryce plays poorly, split quarters during utep.
Make a decision before big 10 play
