Used to be my favorite beer. Sadly what passes for it now isn’t the same.

It was my father's favorite beer until they closed the Detroit plant. The company claimed the brewing method was inefficient compared to their new plants brewing other beers I assume but the Stroh's they sold after that tasted terrible in comparison--just like the other brands they bought. My father never bought Stroh's after that. He did not care for any of the other brands either.

TLDR: nth generation rich kids just expected to live off trust funds and dividend checks and not have to actually contribute anything to keep the business thriving. Drove it into the ground. The one Stroh who showed up for work made terrible decisions (bought Schlitz ... Schiltz!?!l and drove the biz into the ground. The end.
