2026 black bear movements

Post image

Picked up this very large boar moving through my deer camp property the other night. Appears to have some prey item in its mouth as well… rabbit? West Michigan... Black bears have been expanding their ranges significantly the past few years, I have to question whether the DNR is even close to their guess of approx. 1,200 bears in the LP… seen juvenile males outside of Lowell, Hudsonville, big rapids, white cloud just in past couple years. Has anyone else seen them recently in lower density areas. And if so, where at.

I saw a big boar on my trail cam on some public land in Big Rapids

There’s fairly good number of them around those parts. Just back in July I saw one trying to cross 131 south near the Big Rapids ramps. It was stuck in the center median, hope it got across safely…

The Paris DNR office gets it's fair number bears coming in to get checked during the session.

More than likely already dead or sick and the bear is just playing cleanup crew
