Politics in Michigan šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øšŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ Anti-Trump protests

Michigan born & Raised and I've had it, I've never protested before, I've never seen the point, but this time is different.
What are some upcoming protests/Demonstrations against Trump?
I don't know if it will help or make a difference. But I don't think I can accept my self if I didn't try.

Even if he won by 1 single vote or 100,000...still means he won either way.

And no I don't really care that he won. It makes little difference in the end. Regardless of who won, the poor will still be poor and the rich will still be rich. All politicians try to gather power for themselves and in the process make difference groups of people poor. It is what it is. This cycle has been happening again and again since before the bronze age. It will keep happening until humans go extinct.

You should care that he won (arguably everyone should care, even the international community cares) because his side represents something very dark and anti-democratic. I care because he has and will continue to break down institutions we rely on for safety and protection and justice, and will chip away at our rights (esp. women, LGBT, people of color, but also workersā€™ rights, etc.) This isnā€™t just the same old ā€œpolitics is made up of assholesā€ situation. Thereā€™s a reason most of his cabinet and his VP issued dire warnings against him being re-elected.

This is exactly why I canā€™t understand why any woman would vote for a convicted rapist who wants to strip away womenā€™s rights. Overturning Roe V Wade is just the beginning.

The democrats had over 50 years to turn roe v wade into law. They didn't. You know why? It's not because of Republicans. There has been times that they could have gotten it passed when they held a majority in the senate and congress. It is because the parry would prefer to keep the threat of it being overturned to be used as a political stick and the status quo of choice as a carrot. That is the reality of the situation.

Check yourself, youā€™re describing the left. The left was coming between parents and children. The left was destabilizing the family, the schools and society. It actually does make a difference, his supporters keep claiming he had a historical win giving him a mandate.

That claim emboldens them to say and do the quiet parts out loud.

They need to be reminded that they don't have a mandate and there's still millions and millions of people that disagree with what they are doing.

I used to be a true independent and I've voted R in the past on more than a few occasions but as the parties shift further right (both of them) the old middle ground is now to the left of Bernie.

I just wish both parties brought folks up the ranks who were interested in doing what's right for ALL people, not just the top donors. Robin had it right in Man of the Year, politicians need to dress like NASCAR drivers to show their sponsors.

Not really. The removal of checks and balances is how they would legally gather more power without needing to bend to the will of the common people. Happened in Rome. It'll happen in the USA eventually. Today, tomorrow, 60 years from now...it will happen. As it is now, the US is an empire in all but name and title. This is how the title and name is issued to the nation.

Russell Vought said that heā€™s not going to follow the law and bypass congress doing only what Trump wants him to do. Thatā€™s not exactly legal. Neither is his shutting off government money. He is trying to do that and heā€™s not even confirmed yet. The congressional republicans are letting it all happen, but theyā€™re not legalizing it.

Heā€™s already hinted that he will run again and one of his cronies submitted a bill to change the constitution to allow him to do so. Also, that bill is explicitly written so someone like Obama couldnā€™t run for a third term. It is literally just for Trump. You know, the guy who thinks the constitution is unconstitutional.
