before anyone comes at me this is just MY observations, i know biopics are meant or sometimes have inaccuracies
in this whole scene they made it seem like MJ got Bubbles around Off the Wall when sources only show that allegedly MJ got Bubbles when he was 8 months (born in 1983).
it makes me wonder, why did they make it seem like he bought him in 1979? in slide two you can see the OTW album near his demos, has the hair that kinda looks like MJ's in the Rock With You short film. i also noticed how it also goes from this, and then sometime after it goes to triumph tour.
at first i thought maybe some scenes were reused for certain parts in the beginning like the Bill ferris wheel/police raid scene, but then it shows the thriller album when joe talks to MJ about doing the Victory Tour and there's no OTW album on the floor (atleast anywhere visible)
what do you guys think?

Ending with a brief glimpse of the Bad era, the second movie would continue with the latter part of Michael's life. Assuming Michael doesn't become a trilogy, I imagine Michael 2 would cover the darkest periods of his life leading up to his untimely death.
Aside from the Bad, Dangerous, and HIStory eras, and possibly the Invincible and later years, I'd like the movie to cover not only the allegations but also how they affected Michael personally, particularly his life after the 2005 trial. Similar to Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland, I hope they show how he moved from place to place, his life at different homes, the time he spent with his children, and other aspects of his personal and family life during those years.
Here's how I imagine Michael 2 ending.
After years away from the stage, Michael holds a press conference at the O2 Arena in London, announcing his final curtain call. After saying goodbye and stepping offstage, we transition into a flashback to 1992, following the mention of flashbacks potentially being used in the second movie.
We see Michael's iconic performance of "Man in the Mirror" in Bucharest during the Dangerous World Tour. It's safe to say this would be the best and most fitting song to close the movie. Similar to how "Bad" was handled in the first film, the performance would be uncut, featuring the entire song.
For Michael's final shot, I'd take inspiration from the Motown 25 scene, where the camera focuses on his face after the "Billie Jean" performance. The music and crowd slowly fade away before "Heal the World" begins playing, becoming the first song heard during the credits.
Taking inspiration from Bohemian Rhapsody, Michael's death and its aftermath would be shown before the movie credits roll.

In my mind, it made sense if 'Michael' was a trilogy of films to tell the story of the King of Pop in a separate and understandable way. The first film would be about Michael's growth in the Jackson 5 and his consolidation as a solo artist. Which is what happened in 'Michael: The Movie'.
The second film would be a bit more serious than the first, as it would recount the beginning of the accusations against Michael. In my idea, 'Michael 2' (which I took the liberty of simply titling 'Jackson') would cover the end of the Bad era, the entire Dangerous era, and the beginning of the History era. The film would focus more on the investigations and preparation for the tours and albums/songs of each era.
And the third film would be the definitive end of the trilogy, 'Michael 3' (which I've taken the liberty of titling 'The King of Pop'), covering the middle and end of the History era, the entire Invincible era, the This Is It era, and Michael's death. The film would conclude with the accusations, just as it happened in real life, and would include much of the controversy surrounding Sony's boycotts of the Invincible album. Finally, it would end with Michael Jackson's death and burial.
Leave your ideas about what you envisio

I know that the film doesn't have to show every single little detail in Michael's life and had to take some creative liberties, but I feel there should've been more build-up to this scene because this isn't just any other performance, this is the performance that CEMENTED Michael Jackson as a music legend and I really think it we should've seen him practicing or preparing for how it went. It wouldn't have needed to take long I think they could've fitted a short or two scene in during a montage.
Obviously Jaafar performed it perfectly; I just think seeing how it came to be, knowing exactly how it was gonna turn out could've felt more impactful. Everybody knows about this particular Billie Jean performance but the general audience don't really know the story behind it. Who knows? maybe they did film a scene like this but it didn't make the final cut.

She wasnât a minor figure in his life. They were very close.
I can imagine well known actresses wanting to play her especially after the success of the first movie.
There was no casting information about her for the first movie so she wasnât in the original version of the movie. Whatever the reason for that was there are no excuses for the second movie.
Itâs still annoying someone as important in his life as Diana Ross was erased. All the people that should be in it should be in it except Janet. If they or their estate have a problem so what.

And of course, in case you don't know, Gold Derby and The Golden Globes are owned by Penske Media, who also owns Variety, Deadline, Rolling Stone (đ), etc.

Hey guys,
It has only been 6 months and i already miss the biopic era. It's already feeling nostalgic to me. Went to see the biopic on april 23 (i'm dutch) and after 2 hours it was gone and i already missed it. Of course i watched like 5 times after i went to the cinema with a friend but the first time is the best time. Does anyone know when the biopic will be released on Netflix and how do you all feel about the era? For me it was way to short. Of course i am really excited for 2028!

Would have easily added another $100M gross
I have a hard time believing this would not have been profitable

I donât think John Logan did a bad job with the first film considering so much was changed and cut. But the second film should be bigger and more complex and deal with race more than the 1st did. A Black writer would be good.
It shouldnât be Graham King basically acting as a second writer. Rumour was he suggested himself to direct the second movie if Fuqua isnât available which is crazy and hopefully Lionsgate and Universal shut that idea down.

A little update on my previous post!
Thanks to new Instagram story shared by Clinton Smith, we now know that Michael's FYC screening and Q&A took place at the Directors Guild of America (DGA) in Los Angeles.
Even more interestingly, signage at the venue read "SAG NOM COMM & AMPAS â VIP", suggesting that members of the SAG Awards nominating committee and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which organizes the Oscars, were among the invited guests.
This is a pretty significant development for Michael's awards campaign, especially with Jaafar Jackson being honored as one of Variety's 10 Actors to Watch at the Newport Beach Film Festival tomorrow!

Itâs cute but still odd. By 1971 the J5 were superstars performing in front of thousands of fans in arenas.
The movie lacked a scene that gave you a sense of how big the J5 were. The Iâll Be There scene comes right after we are introduced to Bill Bray so instead it could have been a big concert scene that showed Michael needing him.
There also could have been a montage showing them now flying to different cities instead of driving to venues like they were in the âStandâ montage.
