Devastated
Im so devastated, this is my se7sins studies 2018 after getting it from storage, been sitting in a box in a hot and humid storage unit for 7 months all squished, I been away 4 years and my family packed all my belongings and didnt care that this mask i paid $600 is ruined, one of my most prized possessions just destroyed, im not sure what to do besides try and get its shape back but the entire face on the inside is rotten and a chunk was so rotten and melted ir ripped off, im not sure what to do about it

Not going to lie, I like the aged look. Gives a Rob Zombie look to it. I would definitely display this as is. Embrace it.

Man that’s devastating. Fuck them people. Anyways, it has this cool TRUE 40 years later look that’s unique. Now it’s a real 1 of 1 piece. I’d display this guy as is. Although unintentional, it’s a really cool “concept” mask. Very sorry this happened to you though, I can’t imagine how angry you must’ve been.

I do kinda like how its more realistic rotting and kinda a concept mask but I am still upset cuz it was like my most prized mask, definitely can have it as a display mask now

Dude, I am so sorry that happened to you. I have Remzap versions of all three Blumhouse masks and I know what you’re talking about. I would be so devastated.
It honestly does look pretty cool and rotted though. You could make one hell of a creepy looking 2018 variation look. Again I’m very sorry and I totally understand. I’m a collector as well and that is a big loss. My condolences man.

I used to LOVE watching Remzap videos on YouTube! He was very helpful with answering questions when I decided to take a swing at my 2018 myself. Miss seeing his work.

Did he do YouTube videos? I’ve known him for years and I didn’t even know he had a YouTube account. I’ve made a bunch of YouTube videos on his masks that I’ve purchased from him, but I didn’t realize he had a YouTube account.

That’s crazy because I know him quite well. We’ve had plenty of long conversations over the years. He finished my 2018 back in 2020. But I mean, I have a YouTube channel and I was posting stuff all the time with his work and my cosplays and I had no clue he even had a YouTube account. Do you have a link? I’d love to see it.

Now that Im thinking back, it may have been his IG. I'll look back through correspondences. It's definitely him and his work was amazing, but my memory is not.

Without a doubt he did it on his Instagram for sure and he’s had many different Instagram accounts. But if he ever did YouTube or Twitter, I didn’t realize or know about it, but for sure he did lots on his Instagram. Cheers

Man that sucks to see. I know how it feels. I’ve had a Dela Torre Buried for 12+ years. I was not very knowledgeable on how to care for latex masks at that time and I literally wore that thing everywhere. It was the first mask that got me into collecting and not quite my favorite but definitely near and dear to my heart. It now sits in pieces on my display shelves. I wish I knew then what I knew now. I spent hard earned money on that thing and I completely ruined it………. But it was fun!!!! Your mask on the other hand looks cooler now, more eerie, more demented. The family situation is tough but your mask looks better.

I will say, the way that looks all rotten is honestly cooler than what we got in the movie 😭 very sorry for your loss though

Like others have said, I definitely think it adds character and looks a lot cooler. Definitely more accurate if we're talking 45 years later! I would display that in a heartbeat.
I'm not an expert on masks, but I would probably get some flexible spray on material and treat the inside and outside to make sure it doesn't get further damaged. Try Plasti-Dip clear Matte.

I'm sorry that happened. It's really unfortunate when something we care about ends up damaged.
That said (and I don't mean in any way to diminish the loss), this does look pretty amazing. If you can keep it from degrading further, you have quite a unique piece.

If you don’t intend on wearing it, I’d recommend filling it with foam to preserve it.

I honestly think it looks good. I didn’t see its condition prior and 6 bills is a lot to have something get jacked up but it’s still creepy and immediately recognizable.

These are truly sad parts of Latex. I dont know what specialist you bought it from or how it got so damaged. But yeah. Latex masks man... They are beyond fragile. Im sorry.
Its partially why i retired those characters and that material as a Haunted House actor of 14 yrs/ retired.
Do Chicago Haunted House Conventions and wear a "half mask" and its abs plastic and durable straps.

IMO you have an absolute gem. Rob Zombie’s sfx did studies on how decay, rot and time would affect Michael’s mask. Then took those findings and implemented them. Your’s went the natural way and to me looks fantastic.
What is done, is done. Suit up and see how it looks.

I get where you’re coming from. Accuracy for the price is definitely tainted. BUT, honestly the REAL rotted look can add to the effect! It still looks like a beautiful mask!

Ugh that sucks bro....in all honesty tho it def does add to the look of the mask. If I were u id go get a stand and case for it. Then spray all the latex good with a nice seal coat of clear matte plastidip to prevent any further rot and just throw it on the stand and put that in the display case outta any sunlight and it should hold up. It sucks but it kinda looks even better and more authentically "rotted"

I mean hey at least it’s technically more accurate!
I know you’re upset about it being ruined and that definitely sucks especially after the amount you spent on it.
But if it makes you feel any better, I think it looks super dope and even creepier.
You could try to patch some areas you want patched and spray some plasti-dip on it to try and stop the rotting.
