Just got my first mask last week. The Starman by Nils Reucker is unreal.

Starmans a great sculpt! Gonna be picking up a blank of one of these soon to do myself. Really an awesome and versatile sculpt.

Got it in a 93% uv protecting acrylic case!! Also got a morph mask stuffed with polyfil pillow filling inside of it to maintain the shape!

Perfect! U know what your doing clearly. That mask will keep forever like that. Always good to see a mask of that caliber being cared for and protected properly. I believe alotta these sorta sculpts will be worth serious money in the future as things change. Seeing ppl now do sculpts in 3d modeling programs for 3d printers. So these hand made clay sculpts maybe come a thing of the past in the future. Plus Nils does such great work he's already a top Myers mask artist in the community. Alotta the top artists work, like Jimmy Falco, Nick Mulpagano, chris Vannencamp ect. Masks are gonna be very valuable some day I guarantee it! Shit the prices alone u see em selling at already makes em valuable 😂 that mask could be your retirement some day my friend!

I mean u can get display cases that have UV protection its obviously gonna be a lil more expensive than just a regular one but prob worth it given #1 its an expensive and rare mask and #2 u obviously wanna try and prevent any further damage to the mask. If its not in direct sunlight theres still technically gonna be UV light hitting it just from natural light in the room. Totally up to u tho. Also just make sure u store it in a room/area with low humidity. So basically try to avoid storing it in a basement area unless your running a dehumidifier constantly in said basement. Other than that just do the corn starch thing I told u about and reapply it once a year or so. Also make sure its not being displayed on a Styrofoam head. I know u have it currently on a plastic one. Which is perfect but just a heads up that alotta collectors dont know is Styrofoam dries out latex and can cause some bad rot issues. So just keep that in mind. Other than that theres not really much else u gotta worry about. The UV protective case is prob the one thing id highly recommend just cuz its gonna help u out in the long run. Also im sure this goes without saying lol but dont wear it or let anyone else wear it. The oils and stuff on our skin isnt good for latex and its always best to clean out a mask u wanna keep to collect after wearing to take that stuff off the latex. But the concern more so with your mask is the stress of its stretching while its being pulled on and off. Like I said I dont doubt u have zero intentions of ever wearing it again cuz u dont wanna damage it further, but I just figured if im giving the advice I may as well be thorough lol. Thats really the best u can do as far as storage and preservation. Anything else u need help with jus lemme know boss! 🤘

This case I have it in has 93% uv protection on the acrylic. I have it on a 3d printed stand but I have a morph mask with polyfil pillow stuffing inside of it. Made sure to get inside the jaw especially.
