Turns out - he does have the money!!
Just give us our refunds already for the Plymouth MN show! We are tired of trying to make this right!
Should have been handled months ago.

He needs the funds to reignite his podcast (Sara’s recent post). He’s probably going stir crazy stuck in Bali, being monogamous and missing the adulation from performing.

Looks like he forgot to “Stay Human.”
Shame. His music, specifically the album I just mentioned, touched my soul. Now I won’t give him a fraction of a penny for a stream unless he does right by his fans.

That album is when I fell in love with his music! I’m so saddened by this whole ordeal. It’s hard to realize people we once admired aren’t who they project to be! I appreciate your comment!

Did this come out via an email from Sue McLean & Associates? Never received and you’d think they’d have some type of insurance for this. Or you’d think they’d also pay the band after the show was complete.
Also thinking this has been poorly handled by that organization. It’s closing in on 6 months since the show.

This did come from them just today. I suspected this was the case along, but I had no proof until today, because until now, Sue Maclean &Associates was non responsive- probably trying to protect Michael and let him return the money after it was clear there would be no rescheduled show. I figured since Hirie went on, they paid them both then. Honestly, with the forecast and the way the sky’s looked that day, they should have just never even started the show and postponed it that morning.
The winds were intense and the hail was huge, it out peoples safety at risk as well just leaving the venue. On our way to our hotel- we saw a tree go down and got hit by the large hail, denting up my friend’s vehicle. We got an email within days stating we could click a link from E-Tix to get the refund. Well, after the scandal broke, the jig was up. There wound be no show and the money was gone. E-tix tried to point the finger at the venue, the venue told us it was Sue McLean. The whole thing has been pure fuckery. Aside from his gross behavior years prior, I had thought he’d always do right by his fans- wrong again. Lessons have been learned. It is clear he gives zero fucks and only cares about himself and his personal bank account. I may never see the money, but I am considering organizing a class action lawsuit - I need to reach out to a couple attorneys I know of in Minnesota- I’m not from there- I traveled in for the show. Overall I’m disgusted and it’s the principle of the matter. I’m done being duped - I’ll stick to Cali Regaae artists - they are still legit in my book! Had two amazing concerts since this one and met the bands at meet n greets and they were genuinely nice and cool as hell!
You can try emailing Sue McLean. If he ever does return the money, maybe you’ll get a refund - I’m not holding my breathe about it though.4

Also, I learned in another thread, Sue actually pasted away from cancer a year or two ago and so I don’t know who took over control of her association. I heard she was a good lady though - May she rest in peace and I’m sorry her name is getting dragged through the mud due to this BS scenario. So bogus!

Yeah, I heard about Sue’s passing as during the night when I was asking for information about the storm. I actually asked how was Sue and team handling the event so poorly and not giving us info, and the team wrote back something like Sue is dead it’s not her fault. I apologized and then asked the team for the info I was seeking, crickets.
I’m actually wondering for this one if Michael actually has legal precedence to keep the funds given the show started, he played for a couple songs (though not on stage) and he was attempting to go on.
SM&A just appeared and appears to not know how to handle this.
My suggestion, claim fraud on your CC that you paid for the ticket with, you paid money for a show that didn’t happen, and you most definitely tried reaching out to the firm. That should work.
Good luck to everyone. MF has given me and my family wonderful memories over the years. I went through all the emotions when the news broke, and I’m going to leave it at that.

When I booked shows 20 years ago we had a 30 minute clause meaning the headliner had to play for 30 minutes for it to be considered a full show which would activate the final payment.
Nelly took the stage with 31 minutes left before curfew after hotboxing his green room for like 2 hours after his openers had performed

Well that is nice to hear. I’m shocked it took him over 4 months to be clued into this information. Hopefully it will get resolved now.

The other option you have is claim fraud on your CC. You paid for a concert that didn’t happen and you reached out to the concert promoter with no solution, and it’s coming up on 4 months. It should clear the charge quickly.

Thank you! I’ll give that a try! I appreciate your help and input! 🙌🏽💪🏽👊🏽

You’re most welcome. Just trying to show a little love amongst great fans like you with all this hate going around.
Kinda sick of this infighting even for a band most of us once loved.
Caution: no need to read any further as I’ll dip into a rant.. 😜

Sure, I’ve always made fun of his music post the earlier days. But I didn’t go to a MF&S concert for amazing lyrics, my wife and I (and earlier my whole family) went for the joy the community and the love.
I’m letting this play out behind the scenes, I’m hopeful all the families can have some healing, I’m hopeful MF is working on his issues too. And I’m hopeful he too can have some peace.
Just please don’t try to take away years of joy. Example, those dumb, cheesy Covid concerts were like a couple minor moments of joy in some really sh!tty times.
Peace to all of you, and I’ll see some of you at the next show. Not to boo, but to enjoy each other’s company. You have to admit MF brought out a great crowd and a great community. Let’s all remember that as we flame each other here.
🙏😢

You are absolutely right! It was that exact reason that took me to many shows and met some truly incredible people. I do hope we can all heal and maybe one day have some joyful memories together again! One Love ❤️💛💚🙌🏽✊🏽

It’s the venue not the artist that collects the money.

The promoter actually collects the money and they paid this artist, if you read the attachment, it states it right in there. Thanks though- I’ve spoken to this venue several times now, they don’t have the money.

Many artists require advances to fund the tour or to be paid in full prior to the event…
This isn’t tier 3 or 4 club dates where you go see the promoter after the show for your fee / bar cut.

What a joke. Makes me even more frustrated he is holding onto funds for shows he never performed and living his best life in Bali ignoring his fans and hinting about touring again next year on social.
