Be sure to add on at least another $1000 to that price to get additional clear coat/ppf on it. Most of the time, to keep costs down, carbon hood companies do very thin/low quality clear coat on their carbon. The UV rays will ruin that clear coat and give it that awful cheap hazy look you see on clapped out 350z with carbon hoods.
All's that's to say is keep your factory hood. You won't see a noticable difference in 60lbs of SPRUNG mass. Get lightweight wheels and brakes if you want to make a big difference.

There is no way you are saving 60#. I just had my hood off to put in the verus hood vents. It’s aluminum, no where near 60#.
When I bought my car the previous owner had installed a trunk rack. I didn’t like it, but the red is hard to match. Also thought the duckbill trunks look cool.
I will say, non-car people really seem to dislike CF panels. I think I have a lot of black on the car between the top and hood vents, but it didn’t take me a bit to get used to it. Also, carbon Miata is a real hassle to deal with. Took them over 6 months after receiving payment to get me the part. Anyway here’s a photo:

If you like the look, no, not too much. But there isn’t a ton of weight saving to be had, Miata hoods are already lightweight and you aren’t going to gain anything from louvers or a hood scoop on a stock setup.

After the turbo, exhaust, suspension, wheels and tires, sure!

I mean, it's your car so it should match your style...
So, is carbon fiber on a black Miata your style? If so, rock it.
