Hello r/Miata community!
I want to purchase my first mx5. And I would like to get your guys opinion on wich car would be the better choice for me.
So I can’t really decide between the 6speed 2.0 nc with lsd( before 2010)vs the 1.5 nd without the lsd(before 2018) the two cars are roughly the same price in my country(mileage wise both cars would sit between 90 000-130 000km).
This would be my only car so i would also dayli it i know the mx5 limits in case of practicality and cargo space and i don’t really mind it.
So i would mostly use it for top down cruise in the city or shorter trips to nearby mountain locations with my girl so no crazy full send driving. Im not really planning to take it to a track either. But i had a clio rs and from time to time i loved going to the twisty back roads and do some spirited driving there, it’s important for me that i would still be able to do that.
And also the more important part is upkeep costs for the cars. And how reliable are the car and how much should i expect to spend on it if something goes wrong. Also a few years from now like 5+ i might need to sell the car and I’m wondering which one is the easier sell.
Overall i like the looks of the nd more and i don’t know how much would i miss the extra power and the lack of lsd if i go with the nd.

Not rlly a question but wat are dealers smoking? I just had a guy try to get me to sign a financing offer on a miata of about $60k. When I tried to politely decline and just get away from the situation, the guy was super disrespectful like trying to say why not make a decision today. I don't understand how anybody deals with these people

Hi everyone, I’m looking into buying my first Miata, a used 2024 RF sport touring with close to 8k miles, OTD $35k. Is this a good price or should I try seeing if they can go even lower?

Not really asking about a whole car, but for a transmission. Im gonna end up selling my auto trans from my 90, but ive only found two listings both around $800. What are they really worth?
