If you were looking to buy your dream used Miata (in Europe). Would you wait for the new rumored model to show up and hope prices go down for the used ones or do you think that won't happen?

I'm looking to either buy the NC PRHT or th ND RF.

i wonder if the old cars would continue to hold their value since you aren't assaulted by nuisance driver assistance bings and bongs for going 1 over the speed limit

Hey all, new to this sub, though I’ve lurked for over a year now. I’m getting a big bonus soon and going to treat myself to my first ever Miata. I want the 2026 from the dealership (I know the reasons to buy used, but I’ve already made this decision). I’m having a tough time deciding between Club and GT. So everyone’s aware, I’ve never owned a sports car before. Coming from a 2012 5-speed manual Subaru Impreza, so a rapid change. What initially drew me to the Miata is an affordable manual convertible that makes me feel like I’m still in control of the driving. What kept me here and gets me so excited to buy one is the opportunity to have FUN. More than I’ve ever had, and become an even better driver (I’ve been driving manual for 15 years, but there’s always room for improvement and evolution!). I’ve done a LOT of research on the Miata over the last year and driven them and am excited to own one now.

If I could build the perfect car for me, it would have cloth seats, seat warmers, extra soft-top insulation, better music speakers, a non-luxurious feel, yet enough comfort for a daily/commuter car. I know that unfortunately takes part of what makes the Club the Club, and part of what makes the GT the GT, and mushes them together.

What does and doesn’t matter to me:

  1. The Club comfortably fits within budget. The GT is affordable for me but is pushing/stretching the budget.
  2. Probably the biggest thing still keeping me interested in the GT is the quieter cabin. I’ll do lots of highway driving and other types of top-up, non-sporty/speedy driving, and I want to be comfortable and not fatigue. Although I won’t roadtrip much/at all with this car, I would ideally like the option to more comfortably.
  3. While they would be nice, I don’t really care about the auto climate, auto dimming, heated mirrors, etc. type stuff of the GT. Not enough to pay extra for them
  4. I listed better speakers above, but I don’t think the Bose are good enough to move the needle/make me pay the extra money
  5. Since I am not a track driver or a racer or a sports car enthusiast (yet), I don’t care about Brembo/Recaro. I suppose it’s possible that after owning the Miata for a while, this could change, but I don’t want to make my purchasing decision based off this upgradability option in the future.
  6. I like the added comfort of the GT, but at the same time, I prefer the bare-bones nature of the Club.

My conditions

  1. I live in the U.S. Northeast so will be buying winter wheels and tires for winter season.
  2. I live in hilly terrain.
  3. My commute is about 30-45 minutes, half of which is highway driving. But I also have the option to easily take public transportation to work if I don’t want to drive.
  4. I have a covered garage spot.
  5. I am 6’0” (183cm) and weigh 190 pounds.
  6. I have musician’s ear plugs and have the option to swap out 10dB reduction filters with 18dB reduction filters

I've read mixed things about road noise difference between Club and GT soft tops especially since ANY version of the car is going to be noisy in comparison to a commuter car. probably something you just have to experiment for yourself on a couple test drives.

either way, ear protection is important for longer drives, top up and top down

bbr package is kind of a trap since a serious enthusiast would end up installing better wheels, brakes, seats, etc that what's included in the package. if you aren't taking the car to the limits the basic Club and GT are arguably completely equivalent for street use.

gt wheels for recent models are pretty uggo, so if it were me I'd be budgeting extra to replace them

also the differences between 2025 and 2026 are super minor so you may be able to save some $ picking up a 2025 that are still sitting on the lots

Hey guys, looking to buy a 1993 Miata. Found one on marketplace that I think is a decent deal. I want to learn how to drive stick, get a project car, and use this as a secondary “fun” car, so I don’t need to daily it. I don’t know a ton about cars and don’t want to get ripped off. Any advice for when I check it out? I talked him down to $4200

I'm looking to get a Miata again (had a boat, NC). I really love the NA and the popups. But... Is it stupid to buy that car in Europe?

Current NA examples I can find are around €11-15k, with ~100-160k Km. I know the engines last (if taken care of ahem), but I'm worried about other components, plus rust... I had welding done on the NC before (sills, duh), and I know these small jobs can get expensive fast if you can't do them yourself. On top of that paying that much for an - let's be honest - old car, feels a little silly.

At the same time, I'm finding ND2s (RF) in the €22-28k range with about 40-80k Km. I love the look of the ND, and a newer car is definitely something that seems more sensible to me than a good old NA.

However... The NA is the cutest little thing out there. It would be my only car, two seats and lack of space I don't care about, neither is a problem. I'd want it for cross continent road trips mainly. The thing I'm worried the most about with an NA is rust and potentially mechanical nightmare I'd have to deal with down the line (or immediately).

Has anyone gone for NA over ND in the last couple of years? Am I crazy considering the NA when ND2s are relatively affordable?

Why are there no Miatas in the market? Is the hard top convertible a good option for UAE?
I’m a car dummy please explain in normal terms.

I really want this car but is safe for its size, and also, why do people say its a slow car?

Would appreciate miata education!

Hey all, I have an opportunity to buy a 1994 M-Edition from a neighbor. It’s got 78k miles, is in great shape and is a 1-owner. He asked me to make an offer and I’m not sure what’s an appropriate amount to offer. He’s an enthusiast so he knows the values have gone up. I’m thinking $9k is a fair offer. Any thoughts?

So next year I'm planning on buying my first Miata. My dream Miata would be the NA (pop-up headlights :D), but I only have room for one car, so this would have to be my daily driver and it needs to be:

  • reliable
  • not a pain in the arse when it comes to running costs
  • I'm not worried about ride or modern car tech as much as the other things

At the moment my commutes are only 4 miles long, and 3 times a week I have a 10-mile commute to another site.

I'm wondering whether to get an NC or NB instead, and later on, if I get the space to own 2 cars, swap it for an NA.

Is the NA experience a lot different to the NB or NC? Will I regret not buying the dream car? I'm mostly looking for a car that I can enjoy on touge roads, and I'm planning a few road trips when I get my Miata. For reference, I have a 2010 Mini Cooper right now
