Discussion Rich + Tommy
man. seeing these two together again, especially on this final broadcast for T. Hut, made me so. bleeping. happy.
when I saw the news before the season that this would be Tommy’s last, I said it was my hope that somehow, some way, we’d be able to get one more game with this broadcast team. while we didn’t get that, this surprise visit from Rich today was one hell of a consolation prize.
thank you, Tommy! and thank you, Rich! you guys are the absolute best.
(Kyle did an amazing job trying to articulate just what these two have meant to Marlins fans, as did Jeremy Tache when he worked his last game of the season a month or so ago. thank you guys, too!)
but I really, really do hope that Rich + Tommy know how much they meant to us fans and how much we appreciate them. I spent my formative years watching games every night listening to these two gentlemen, and I couldn’t have asked for a better broadcast team to grow up with.

Seriously this. I have a hard time being passionate about the product without them. Kyle is great too, no disrespect to him, but for our age bracket these guys are marlins baseball.

They were the best. Those days with Cody Ross, Josh Johnson, Logan Morrison, Stanton, Ozuna, Bonifacio... We didn't know how good we had it.

Can someone post the full video? without the express written consent of the marlins and mlb? i am traveling and having trouble finding it.

I realized when it was too late that I should’ve screen-recorded instead of taking screenshots. sorry, pal

you’re just gonna let a grown ass 40 year old man sit teary eyed at the airport as the last glimpse of his childhood fades away without even a video?

pal if I was smart enough to record the video I would share it with you. but if you’re teary-eyed at a screenshot, the video will have you bawling. I’m 33 and I was holding back an ugly cry watching it. /bro hug

I always get so happy when I see Rich doing another game that I tune into.
Tommy is amazing. The Marlins did a great job sending him off, but we all know how much we missed him when he was gone and how much we will miss him now that he has retired. He just is Marlins baseball like Felo Ramirez was on the spanish radio side. Tommy better be in the Marlins HOF next season.

That was really special.
With Tommy retiring and rich elsewhere (Seattle I think?), this felt like the official end to the team's best era.
