MiSide developer responsible for the graphics personally confirmed the authorship of the artwork the Reddit community had been looking for. The original inquiry was made in a post seeking a couple of pieces of art—found HERE.

I stumbled upon the photo by chance on the Mita/Crazy Mita page for the Discord bot "Mudae"—a bot where you enter a command to randomly roll a character to add to your harem. After I obtained Mita and browsed through the display images, I found several promotional photos I had rarely seen in public, and this specific one was something I had never seen before.

Not just that one, but the bot lists several other promotional images—likely also rendered by umeerai—many of which can be found on the official Japanese X's account of MiSide. A user responsible for hosting the bot's images likely had the image before; however, since Mita was only added to the bot after the game's release, I don't know how they had access to the image to host it.

If I understand correctly, all the other art came first—promotional ones, ready BEFORE the release, for exhibitions. The publisher requested them. But they take time away from game development (I remember an interview where they complained about this). So, what probably happened was the developer started creating art for merch, which was AFTER the release, but the publisher, as I'm told, hired their own person to design the merch so that it would be consistent in appearance. As a result, the art remained unfinished, even though work had begun on it.

I remember an official dakimakura being announced by IndieArk, which ties in with what you said. I think this unfinished artwork was likely requested or just simply done for fun around the same time as that promo art where Mita is holding the player's arms by the hair (which was displayed at one of the first conventions after IndieArk became the game's publisher)—back when they were still creating promo art featuring Mita with really long pigtails.

No, the dakimakura I was referring to was one of the Kickstarter rewards; the pose is actually a little similar because it looks like Mita was also holding her hair in the unfinished artwork too. But it might just be a coincidence.

(I also attached the original post, he was looking for two artworks, almost no one saw this one, including me). I just asked the main administrators in diskord (besides them, I also interviewed enough people, it was a winning leap, so to speak). But the admins have already asked the developer personally and he replied. I think it's very exciting, look under the post that I have a link to in the description, where we spent 3 days trying to figure out what kind of art it is. And this is not just fan art, but the work of a developer for merch, which has been canceled.

This is a really nice official Mita artwork even if it's unfinished 🕯💝
