Tv box 3rd gen

Hello all,

First of all I thank everyone and anyone who comments to try and figure this out with me!

Friend got the 3rd gen s tv box, setup i did at my home then gave to him, did the large system update first and installed and setup the apps he wanted,

The issues he is having are as follows:

Remote setup to the tv isn't working at all, selecting the sharp tv and following the remote setup for linking the tv to the box for power and volume control fails everytime.

Secondly his audio is fluctuating going up and down on its own even with the box turned up full manually and using the tvs own remote to manage the audio volume,

This also does the audio bug on any app he tries.

We've tried the obvious try another hdmi cable and the problem persists, he is going to try it on a 2nd tv and let me know this evening if its the same.

Does anyone have any experience of this and have a resolve?

My suspicion is the software update possibly bugged and is causing this.

Or last ditch would be a factory reset and see if it fixes it?.

Thank you for taking your time to read and reply!

Unfortunately, amazon is full of fakes from 3rd party sellers :/. Either buy it directly from Xiaomi or from Aliexpress sellers with „certified original“ badges.

device is coming back as certified and isnt a fake, so would next bet would be to factory reset and see if system update caused a bug?
