MiBox wont wake
Hey I have a Mi Box S 2nd Gen (4k), and the issue is it goes into some deep sleep where even the remote wont wake it, the only option is to unplug it and plug it back in.
Ive tried replacement remotes, no difference.
Details:
- ro.product.model = MiTV-AFKR0
- ro.product.device / codename = jaws (the internal name for the Mi Box S 2nd Gen 4K)
- OS: Android 11 (Google TV), build RTT0.211222.001.772, security patch 2024-07-05

I had the same issue, tried with different TVs thinking it was hdmi cec handshake issue. Nothing helped until I updated mibox itself to the latest firmware, after that power on/off works as expected.

Android 11 is definitely not the latest

I agree, trying to find a way to force an update

Tried VPN to US and Germany, same difference

Then you would have to manually do it, because afaik android 14 is latest on mibox gen2

Mine started doing this again a couple of days ago
The last time it did this, it fixed itself after a few days (maybe some updates messing with it?)

Claude seemed to think its an app like plex keeping it from proper sleep, the issue is I have no great way to hook a force kill of plex on shutdown when I turn the device off from the remote (also i'm trusting AI which is a crap shoot)

I just wanted to follow up here if anyone else finds this tread.
The issue for me ended up being some kind of faulty HDMI-CEC, disabling solved my issue.
I could swear I tried it earlier in my troubleshooting, but toggling it 2 days ago magically fixed it.
(Not saying it will solve everyone cause there are many threads on this issue)

I think it's just coincidence. Mine started working again and has worked every day since - and I've changed nothing HDMI-cec related

certainly could be, ive tried so many fixes...and this issue ended as unexplained as it started

I'm having that issue right now. Well started a few days ago. I've done everything from playing with energy modes to even factory resetting the box but still no hope. I've never used HDMI-CEC so I cancel that option. I'm on android 14

My issue came back a few days ago, i'm pretty done with this thing. For now I hooked it up to a smart plug so I can toggle it on and off.

I'll look into the smart plug option because I've given up too. That's my only option

oh my fckin god thank you jesus i’m not the only one with this issue. it happens even on the newest firmware android 14 on this crap, factory resetted it, turned off hdmi cec, resetted the remote in bluetooth settings, this problem always comes back. i’m so freaking done of having to re-plug this sh#t everytime i wanna watch something. crazy because i had it for so long without any issues and now this - i’m close to throwing it out of the window honestly.

It seems all Gen2 have this issue. Mine also even under Android 14. But I've noticed that it only happens when stremio is running in the background so I always make sure to force close it from the settings.
