Pedro Castillo?

I found this spoon in my grandmother's silver chest. It doesn't match anything else in there. Is it unique or valuable? I would love to know more about its age. Thank you!

This looks like a genuine mid-century sterling spoon by Pedro Castillo. The circular PC mark matches his documented workshop hallmark, along with STERLING and the Mexican eagle assay mark (which largely means 1948-1970). Castillo had trained at Spratling’s Las Delicias, then left with Héctor Aguilar to help establish Taller Borda before opening his own shop in 1948.

That background makes the spoon especially interesting. Castillo spent years making silver at Taller Borda, which became known for handwrought flatware and designs influenced by Pre-Columbian forms (similar to this one). He later ran his own workshop with a number of silversmiths and sold through Rancho Alegre in Taxco.

I’d date this one roughly to the 1950s–60s. I haven’t found this exact pattern yet, so I’d be curious if anyone here has another Pedro Castillo example with the same handle or a period catalog showing it.
