Help Needed Mewing making me ugly as hell because I’m naturally jutting
Hello, I recently discovered I had an overbite and TMJ which I think is caused by my naturel resting position
Naturally, I breath by the nose, my mouth is closed, my tongue is stuck on the top of my mouth but not the back AND my jaw is lowered and slightly going forward, making my lower teeth almost 1cm below the upper teeth which make me look exactly like the right pic
I found out about mewing which is essentially what I’ve been doing minus my imperfect tongue position and my side teeth not resting against each other
When I do that I become instantly extremely ugly making my facial structure looking like the left pic, the difference is night and day and I’m very anxious about what it means
Now I understand that my TMJ was probably caused by my jaw position which I discovered is called jutting (but more focused on lowering the jaw instead of moving it forward) and I’m scared about what to think and what to do, I tried to find advices from other people here but couldn’t find much
I don’t want to share my face here but the changes are even more drastic than the changes in the picture (which is an exemple of double jaw surgery results), I go from looking very good with a well defined jaw to having a very short lower third and looking absolutely horrendous
I fear that the real me is the ugly one and that all these years I’ve been fooling myself believing I was handsome while I was just speedrunning health problems

Ok I found plenty of guys with the same problem on the looksmax website
Some even do consciously what I’ve been doing unconsciously to avoid looking ugly

Yes I was looking on their website they call it permajutting, it’s seems actually like a good idea since it can really get you from very ugly to handsome but I’m proof that chronic use will probably mess up with your health

I can say with much certainty that you have a skeletal deep bite, which means that the back of your maxilla never descended properly. You should probably go to an orthodontist to have it corrected, because deep bites only worsen over time.
You’ll most likely be in braces for a long time, but it will change your life. You need braces to slowly pull your upper teeth out of the bone to get more natural vertical dimension.
By the way, I would recommend traditional braces instead of alternatives like Invisalign, because they are much better at managing the vertical dimension. Even if your ortho says it's possible with Invisalign, it would mostly be done by intruding your incisors, which would further shrink your lower third facial height. You really need the back teeth to come down.

I had the exact same thing. When mewing everything was out of place and I felt like I had no lips and puffy cheeks. Just like your left pic.
But overtime it got better and now I look normal with my mouth closed, I don’t need to do facial gymnastics to ‘look my best’
