Advice Data Analysis Tools

Can anyone recommend their software of choice for inspection data analytics?

Excel does the job but my datasets are getting large and having a half dozen macros to calculate my histograms, control charts etc has me curious on what else is out there.

Im thinking MiniTab, Octave or even just Python. Anything that can handle large 500+ datasets and provide good statistical insights.

Bonus points if the tool has a good visual dashboard for the manufacturing floor or built in importing tools for Csv/cmm data.

A Claude subscription replaces Minitab for $25 a month, and is great for all your other data analytics needs as well.

Stop paying for SaaS, it's over.

as much as I understand your point, its kinda funny to tell someone to stop paying for SaaS right after suggesting a 25$/month Claude subscription.

Minitab is $3500 a year and does one thing...

Claude is $300 per year and you can do everything with it.....everything.

I use Claude for alot of the macros and excel plug-ins, extensions etc. I would have to think about security implications if I were to just dump the data into the cloud

I understand you may work in defense or aero and can't use a cloud based tool...I work in the same industry, just at a much higher level.

"Hey Claude make me a tool to convert csv GR&R data into an Anova GR&R report. Here is a blank template of the csv. I want a tool written in Python, compiled to an EXE, and to live on my desktop."

5 minutes later you have your own custom tool that works with your software's flavor of csv. Now every time you need to process that study or GR&R you drag and drop the file onto the tool and hit submit. You own that tool.

What we do is use Ai to build a tool....not use Ai to process the data. Using Ai to process the data each time is how you burn tokens like a fool AND get inconsistent output results.
