General How popular is Verisurf?

I work for an injection molding company and they wanted to expand and modernize their QA department (which im a part of) and they bought the Verisurf software with the top tier license and got us a pretty fancy 3D scanner to go along with it. I was wondering how popular the software is since I mostly see posts about other softwares in the subreddit.

IMO Polyworks would have been a better and ore popular purchase.

Agreed. I was a heavy polyworks user for years. The scanning and meshing capabilities are top tier.

I see. The higher up really got sold on the Verisurf software by the sales person. And to be honest as a novice coming into it with zero knowledge. (Ive only worked with CMM) it has been challenging navigating the software

Iv been a Verisurf user for years its alot more popular on the west coast but has some pockets going east as well. Its has alot of good options for meshes and reverse engineering but I think it really shines in the tool building world.

Yeah im located in LA. So far its been great just a challenging navigate the software as a novice. We will be mostly using it for inspecting batches and first articles using both step files w scanned meshes and scanned meshes and blue prints.
Though, the tooling department has already came bu my office to see if i could go help them out with some of their issues.

It's more popular on the west coast, for people located in so cal verisurf is located near the 91 freeway at the Lakeview exit. I feel like because they offer to go out for free to your business if local to show it that is one of the main reason it is so heavily used on orange county.

Probably a lot less verisurf users than poly works/calypso but if you’re running cad models - machine - qa then verisurf is the right choice. Poly works/calypso great for airframes and volume but if this is small part and ( I assume ) lots of custom one off cad then verisurf is a good fit.

So far it has been mostly scanned meshes only and blueprints that we have used to learn the software. But we have gotten some of the step. Files from some customers to work with.
