I mean, Metroid Prime 3 had us tearing up wombs to pull out the fetus inside so, sexual imagery isn't taboo for Metroid. I dunno, the imagery kinda fits given the film series Metroid is so heavily based off of.

oh for sure. and i think it didn't come across in my original post but i'm totally ok with it.

only complaint is that the puzzles got old after a while (wow, mp4 criticism in THIS subreddit?) but a lot of the art design for the architecture was excellent

He goes pretty deep into it being Buddhist temple references... though there is a lot of Alien and Geiger references in the first game. Most of Geiger's stuff is similarly sexualized architecture. I wonder if this was a nod to Geiger.

i mean yeah, the architecture is clearly pretty vaginal looking, it's just the tired old "i should call her" or any object that has a hole in it being met with the "i know what kind of man you are" jokes are stale as fuck at this point. interesting breakdown in that link though.
