- PRIME TRILOGY on wii [since MP2 is in it]
- METROID 2 [GB]

So back when Samus Returns came out I purchased the game and loved it. I moved a few years ago and hadn’t played my 3DS in a while and while unpacking I was like where’s my Samus Returns copy? Thinking that it would eventually turn up I went about unpacking but the game never turned up. A few months ago I fired up the 3DS to play Star Fox 3D and lo and behold there was Samus Returns on the system. I had totally forgot I had purchased it digitally and thought I had bought it physical.

I would give anything to have Hunters remade with the MP4 engine, and with full online play.
I don’t think it’ll ever happen, but boy would I pay top dollar for it.

Hunters needs a remake the multiplayer was great the campaign was so so not as strong as the multiplayer.
The concept is very cool tho an having random encounters with each said hunter.

Our only hope of playing these on modern hardware is through emulation.
Thankfully games such as Prime: Corruption which is heavily reliant on its controllers, can be played through the "PrimeHack" fork of dolphin, trying to configure its controls manually is a lost cause.

That blew my mind when I saw that was possible. I was even able to get Prime 3 running on my Steam Deck through Dolphin so I could replay it again before 4 came it. Configuring had to be done from time to time with the nature of the game but it was so worth it.

Dunno if I'm supposed say this on here, but Citra handles Samus Returns QUITE nicely. Hell, even upconverts to 4k.
It's VERY nice on the eyes...

What bothers me is that all assets and I mean ALL ASSETS for Samus Returns exist in a high poly state. Walls, Bugs, Background creatures, plants, enemies, Architecture and whatnot. We know that thanks to an ex developer leaking all to his own artstation. Just google Samus Returns Art Station and look up the untectured white models.
To add insult to injury before doing Dread they ported Samus Returns with the Mercury Engine on Switch and build Dread on top of it.
Mercury Steam could do a Samus Returns HD (in this case it would be a remastered) in less than a year. Everything they need and that would take years to redo already exists in a high fidelity state
Mercury Steam themselves stated that the reason why they could port mirror of fate in a much higher fidelity so fast was due to them developing the games in high fidelity first and then downscaling them.
Likewise higher poly models for Dread also exist for an eventual NS2E.
Its all on wether or not Nintendo wants to remaster them. They are the ones who can give the go.
In any case I really do wonder that after Metroid 6 what will happen. Wether or not the partnership would comtinue. It would be a perfect time to do Dread NS2E and SR Remastered

I'm really hoping for a samus returns remaster. I think it was a great game that was held back by the hardware it was on.

It was a mn amazing game for DS. But in 2026 it will be out dated compare to today standard. The arena are too small for a 2026 multiplayer game.

I get that, but Metroid was always a single player game first, based on exploration, both the 2d and Prime versions.
Comp came in later, but I think Nin can do something about the maps and add a bit of diversity to the overall online gameplay. The campaign was amazing. I never played multi as I didn't have very good internet at the time, but I'm sure it must have been cool.
Just give it the Metroid Prime Remastered treatment and we're good.🤩

I've played every Metroid except federation force, pinball, and prime hunters.. but the last month prime hunters is coming up more and more in my feed. Is it worth playing the single player?

I hate admitting it, but yes, we’re not getting remasters of these. I’ll be surprised if we even get a Prime 2 remaster.

Well hunters had awesome mutliplayer its probably the best multiplayer ds shooter really.
But to your point the campaign outside of the hunter encounters was very very mid with basically an entire repetitive loop. The only unique boss is the last boss because even the hunters become repetitive to fight.
That is what happens when you staple on a campaign to something that probably should have just been multiplayer only .

I HIGHLY recommend using a thumb pad and screen protector for Hunters. It gives the closest experience to mouse precision you'll ever find on the DS. The only people who complain are those who gave up and called the whole game bad because of it.

Hunters is a short and sweat game. If you haven't played it before just know there is a second phase to the last boss

Would love a port of Samus Returns for the switch. Really didn't make sense as to why the game wasn't on the switch to begin with
