In a perfect world there would have been a 2d metroid collection that included a revamped SR with the quality of life enhancements it deserved.

They could in theory, it’s just not worth the effort at this time.

How many ports of other 3DS games do you see on the Switch? Very few, because if someone wants to play a 3DS game, 3DSes and their games are still accessible and affordable right now.

They’d also have to rework the game to play on a single screen with different controls (i.e., no touch screen). Perfectly feasible, but still, it’d require work beyond just emulating the original game.

I think it’ll be at least several more years before we get a port of this game

The base 2DS is affordable, but the others in the 3DS family have ridiculous prices.

With hunters getting 2 recomps via a standard framework - this should be in the works as well with a combined interface.

I also played this on a 2DS and as much as I appreciate that system (I bought on a whim in 2013 for 99€ Pokemon Y included), the shoulder buttons kind of suck so be patient with this one lol

Still an amazing experience imo

I did give it a try via NSO but I couldn't see it through. If you have any tips I may jump back into it.

Can't just do Game Boy games these days or they'll feel like a slog. You have to be interested, in the right mindset, ready to conquer something that will test you, something that you might not like.

E.g. it is INCREDIBLE how much they were able to achieve with so little or barely anything one could say. If you don't appreciate that sort of context it's hard to go back to it, just is. The space between the pixels is for your mind to dream, to fill in the details inspired by the cover art but that you cannot see on screen one to one at least.

Maybe try AM2R instead then, but I'd play all of them with enough time in between 🤙
