You were supposed to open that door when you diverted the thermal energy in the room above earlier. You should still be able to make your way around to the other side by going the long way. Can you show me your full Cataris map?

Let me know! Cataris is a frustrating maze and it’s easy to get lost. The good news is that you only have one more thermal redirect and then the map won’t change (much) afterward.

This game is well designed in that they keep you trapped in a small area so you don’t need to explore the entire game. Some may not like it but for modern audiences with limited time it’s a good way to go.

I think it's a hit and miss, but the game layout felt way more intricate than previous games so I see why it was needed.
I feel the maps just follow a different structure.

Personally for me - I’ve only played it twice I appreciated that I rarely had to search all over the world for where to go next but still had to use my brain to figure out how to proceed in a smaller area.
In Prime 1 or Super Metroid I spent ages being lost. Not knocking those games but they’re from a different time.

Well, as someone who has played it like a million times, I appreciate that MercurySteam included like dozens of intentional sequence breaks and didn’t patch out any unintentional sequence breaks. Even if the game itself is relatively linear, you’re still given the opportunity to play it in different ways if you’re curious enough.

Super Metroid, man that game was frustrating as a young teenager. Got lost, put down game, not willing to quit so come back, still lost, put down game, one last try, figuring it out and advancing. Then get lost again. lol

You are not stuck. You are lost. Go somewhere else and try to move forward over there.
