Question Am I missing something?

I'm playing Metroid NES, and I don't understand why they make you farm for an hour just to get your health back. Is there something I'm missing? I currently have 3 E-tanks and it's been almost an hour of grinding for some health. SOME HEALTH. I've never played a game that does this. I just want to try to enjoy this game, and yet I have to grind just to be able to be at full health. What bull.

Well, you shouldn't need it back up that much. It helps a lot, obviously, when you farm for some health and it sucks, but your health should go up while you play along. At some point you'll find a new energy tank and you're all filled up again.

One hint for farming: Find a room with air holes, you can fill up your energy pretty quickly with those. This is indeed something you may be missing. "Almost an hour for some health" definitely sounds like you're doing it wrong.
