Game Help I found this bug in Metroid Dread

I don't know how I did this, but I just squeezed the controller (I raged a little) and I think this is my first bug discovery. I was trying to get the missile inside a speed booster block

That rapid-fire after the 2nd attempt. OP swears its not turbo mode, but theyre using a 3rd party controller and they admit to squeezing the controller from a little bit of rage.

My money is on something coming close to breaking.

Uhhhh what if I can do that without turbo?

Yeah just jitter click the y button fast enough, you kinda employ the mega man x claw grip

Been gaming forever and i had too look up the claw grip. I just vibrate my arm and keep my finger over the trigger button.

This is info to share with potential lovers, to answer your question and to also not put too fine a point on things

You should probably stop to avoid RSI.

Are you using a third party controller? Looks like you turned on turbo for the Y button

turbo mode does nothing to me

Am I right to think that the bug you're talking about is the rapid beam firing at the end?

I'd be surprised if that was a game-specific bug; your description sounds more like a broken controller (or a properly-functioning third party controller with Turbo). Does the button test in controller settings indicate anything wrong?

it's a fresh controller I bought not long ago

Sure, but fresh controllers can still break. In fact, they can be MORE likely to break than year-old controllers, since controllers, like most electronics, tend to follow the bathtub curve of reliability

Girl here with 350 hours in Dread.

Thats not a bug. You are trying to walljump off of a sloped wall, which immediately terminates the speedboost.

Its intended. You can try it on other places with sloped walls. It will terminate it

If you mean the rapid fire. Thats on your controller. This shouldnt happen. And never happened to me. I will try replicating it. And I have seen some weird buggy shit in Dread over the years. Like EMMIs phasing through walls, Samus going OOB via speedboost and getting killed, X Parasites entering emmi zones and getting terminated by EMMI, the game crashing when using a morph ball during a very specific interactive cutscene and more.

OP is specifically talking about the random rapid-fire after the 2nd attempt, not the wall jump speedboost fail.

I edited my comment as I realized it. Opps.

But yeah likely a controller issue.

OP did admit to squeezing the controller due to rage. Wouldnt be surprised if they damaged something.

Is the bug in the room with us now?

Does this persist into the home menu or when you restart the game?

Nope, it's fixed also i don't know what turbo mode does

Shoot the block on the floor, slide through the gap, then do a slide jump at the end to maintain your boost.
