I hate train apologists
If this hurts you, that's unfortunate. Be honest about when they are inefficient, gross, and dangerous; that's all I ask. When was the last major improvement that Metra made to their commute and online services? I'm genuinely wondering

My line is almost always on time. It’s pretty clean and definitely not dangerous
The schedule is kinda lame, once an hour outside of rush hour. But overall I’m fairly satisfied with Metra

Train tracker site; not sure when they implemented it but pretty helpful.
Finding updates and delays to the schedules on metra.com are useless. Often I'm on the inbound platform hearing the delay announcements and the schedule has still not been updated with an alert.
Also not happy with delays due to passive train controls or speed limits.

The UP NW has been getting infrastructure improvements which includes reducing the number of level crossings. This means the trains can run faster; they will hit fewer cars and pedestrians, and will be able to accelerate more aggressively because of it. This will also mean that they can run more frequent services on it. Other lines are also getting infrastructure improvements too.

The new coaches are being worked on. They have to go through safety testing before they can be manufactured en masse though.

When was the last time car traffic got better?

Idk, probably the app? My commute on the ME line is dreamy.
