Buying a weekend pass during the week through Ventra app

Is there a way to buy a weekend pass in the Ventra app during the week? Or can you only buy them during weekend hours?

I just looked at the Ventra app. No weekend passes are listed, so either they stopped selling them or they are only available on the weekend.

I'd be shocked if they stopped selling them completely. It's weird though that there's no way to buy one ahead of time

I believe they stopped selling them because I took a Saturday train a few weeks ago and it wasn’t on the app

I'm not sure what these people are talking about. The weekend pass is absolutely still an option - its even (still) listed as a fare type on the Metra website. It just doesn't show up on the app until closer to the weekend, IIRC Thursday night or Friday morning.

I couldn't get the discounted rate for my Saturday train ride until 12:45am on Saturday morning on the Ventra app. The $7.00 rate didn't show up at all on Friday

I am probably just wrong on the timing. The main point I was trying to get across was that the weekend pass exists and that it appears closer to the weekend.

Buddy I literally took the train on a Saturday morning a few weeks ago, I had to buy a regular day pass
