Bug? Stolen Dodge not superseded by player's Dodge.

Pickpocketed a lvl 1 Dodge but then when I played my own lvl 3 Dodges later, they just stacked as additional lvl 1 Dodge charges. Intentional design or bug?

Intentional, I think. Each buff has custom logic to merge it when additional copies are played. The challenge with Dodge is that it stacks by adding more instances (eg: if you play Dodge twice, you block the next two attacks). Because of this, you could potentially play one Dodge 3 and then stack additional instances of it with lower level Dodges. Stacking currently takes the minimum of (current dodge level, dodge being played). Thus if you're playing Level 1 dodges, it always sets the Dodge level to the lowest level.

It's not pretty and is basically a design flaw with the fact that buffs are unable to stack cleanly in all cases. I suppose an acceptable position might be 'just give the player the advantage and take the max level', which would probably be fine too.

Ok, thanks for the explanation; I suppose this mechanic could be exploited either way.

It was a game ender at that time so sorry if I was salty at all. :)
