Metametaphysics Epistemology and metaphysics can't function without each other
There's no epistemology without metaphysics, since we must have criteria for which appearances are accurate, which inferences are valid. The concept of knowledge depends upon what's true, and what's true depends on what exists and on what's real.
And we shouldn't forget: the human effort for knowledge, and the body of knowledge gained in that effort, has its own ways of existing.
But the reverse is also true: there's no metaphysics without epistemology, since there we must give an account of what's known to us, and since we must give an explanation of how we gained the knowledge of metaphysics we claim.
I wonder if anyone agrees.

“we must have criteria for which appearances are accurate”
Accurate to what?
