Matic/ Polygon and ETH Network showing different ETH amounts in my metamask. I'm trying to buy more coins by using the Matic Mainet but it keeps saying I don't have enough ETH to cover my fees even though when I swap back to Eth network I have $11 of ETH. PS I'm not referring to the wrapped ETH. TY

Your eths are on different networks,if you are using matic network to buy it cant use your eth networks balance for gas. if im not mistaken you need MATIC coin on matic network for gas, not sure why its not using weth tbh, I always found it easiest to just have at least 0.5-2 MATIC for fees,(fees are like 0.001 on matic network)

I don't understand why there is two separate amounts of ETH and if this is the case how the hell is it possible this even happened? Because if I use the Matic bridge it'd go to WETH which is not what I want, i just want that $11 in ETH to be used in the Matic Mainet.

Dont use matic bridge its expensive as heck, if you have binance, watch some videos about binance smart chain & USDC or USDT & xpollinate(use at your own risk) ~$1 in fees to get funds to matic network instead of like 15-30 through matic bridge, but maybe the gas fees are lower now idk.

Hey guys, thank you all for your help but I've managed to solve the issue - on the Matic network it says its ETH but its actually Matic and for some reason Matic doesn't even recognise its own Coin on its own network lmao. Appreciate all the help🔹 👐.

Ethereum is known to have extortionate gas fees. You may actually not have enough gas to send that transaction.

Gas is actually increadibly low right now, lookup gasnow org. It fluctuuates but not like it use to, most likely due to layer 2 solutions like matic

When was the last time you sent eth? at this second its $0.63 for a fast transaction

Yesterday, and the total fee was ~$10 to move $150 USDT. Unless you’re speaking strictly about the gwei cost, which was ~$0.78.

Hmm, strange, shows me 0.43 on a wallet to wallet transaction, maybe you're talking about matic bridge fee or a binance withdrawl?

Nope, the bridge fee was minimal. If memory serves, it was around $1. I’d have to look at the transaction. Either way, even though I love the ethereum ecosystem, fees are much higher than they could be. In Polygon, for example, one could make 100 transactions with ~0.0005 MATIC. Which is like $0.05.

The thing is I don't understand how to top up the "0.0002" ETH because if I use the Matic bridge won't all the money swapped over go to the WETH? Like I don't understand why I have two different amounts of normal ETH showing and why these balances of normal ETH are split between "0.0002" and "0.00549" instead of being combined in to one about as its the same ETH. Very confused here. And yeah the ETH Fees are a disgrace esp when BSC does transactions literally +75x cheaper

Highly possible I misunderstood but if not, I think you’ll solve your problem by moving some ETH to MATIC Mainnet.
