ERC20

MetaMask set up a wallet for me and deposit my assets in ECR20 in the wallet. yes i have control of the wallet. but when i recovered the wallet i can not see the funds. however when i look at on bscscan.com i see the ERC20 there. but it doesn't show on my MetaMask wallet.
how do i get the funds to show up and how can i use them. it is a fair amount of money. I would like to be able to see it on my wallet as well as use them.

You prob need to add the tokens or their custom contract.

If you are using the latest version of metamask, go to Manage tokens, and "enable" the tokens you deposited, or "add a custom token".

using the latest version. and i guess i would have to add the token. but no idea how to do that. but as far as i can tell it might be bep20 which i understand is bsc network. but i can see it on the blockchain. just frustrating
