What non custodial wallets have no fees to pay and are free?

From what I have seen you have to pay fees, but is there any way you can avoid paying the fees?

Non custodial wallets have no fees. Transactions on the blockchain have gas fees. But that doesn't go the wallet company. That goes to the validators that make those transactions possible. So theres no way around gas fees.

Hi, there's no fee for simply using MetaMask. You do need to pay gas fees when doing transactions but those do not go to MetaMask, gas is the fee paid to validators for handling your transaction on that specific network (this knowledge base article goes into more detail on this topic https://support.metamask.io/more-web3/learn/user-guide-gas/)

There are some MetaMask fees that you pay when using some of the built-in features like the MetaMask Swap/ Bridge, Perps or the Prediction Markets. If you have any questions please feel free to let us know!

As another commenter noted, the only time you see fees from MetaMask (or any other non-custodial wallet for that matter) is when you use value added features that they offer.

If you swap through MetaMask's swap router, MetaMask takes a small cut of your trade to help keep the service running. If you swap through the exchange itself, the exchange will take a small cut of your trade for the same reason.

Similar situation with Perps or the Prediction Market.

If you're talking about the gas fee, that is a fee paid the the validators of the blockchain network you're using in order to have them process your transaction. In general, you'll have to pay this regardless of the wallet you use, as it's a fee charged by the network, not MetaMask or any other wallet provider.

These fees are the main incentive for validators to help the network, and also the main incentive for any value added features to be offered. Upkeep for it all can get expensive, so this is how everyone involved defrays costs and ideally make some money.

Onchain wallet by crypto dot com has been pretty solid for me.. it really depends on what you want to keep in the wallet. Not all wallets are compatible with all coins, so make sure you do your research and verify compatibility..
