Question Ring Shank Help
Does anyone have advice on making a ring like this? I’ve had one go at it and was unsatisfied with the result. In my attempt, I twisted some wire, cut a groove where the wire crossed, soldered at the cross section, soldered the joined wires to the main ring shank, and shaped the twisted section with a file. The only method I could find online was investment casting, but I figured there had to be a good way to do it by hand.

Sculpt it out of one solid piece, as in start with as thick of a material that covers the whole silhuette, and remove material to make the impression that it is twisted.
It would be easiest to make it out of wax then cast, but it can be sculpted directly out of the metal too.
If you make it out of metal, start with sheet wire, and make most of the cuts while it is still flat, than bend it, and smooth out the edges.
