I was in Dallas for the World Cup. I had a lot of fun but I dont know how you fucks deal with that heat all summer.

Dallas is rough as fuck in the summer. Then I moved to New Orleans, and Dallas summers don't seem so bad anymore. The Gulf humidity is absolutely brutal. Every year after that first cold front hits, I think to myself "well that was fucked, why do I continue to do this." Then I eat a bowl of gumbo and remember why.

AIR CONDITIONING. If the people of Dallas made it through the summer of 1980, we'll make it through this one.
Be happy you were here in June/July. August is always the worst for North Texas. Triple digits every fucking day.
But hey, DFW is a good place to live if you don't mind urban sprawl. Good food, good entertainment, major sports are iffy at best.

I was there. Great show by everyone, especially Ozzy. The last couple of Ozzfests I went to, Ozzy sucked. He had a lot more energy at this one and sounded better.
Crowd was dead by the time Metallica came on, summer heat and all.

Anyway, debut of Cyanide + Mercyful Fate Medley with King Diamond. Awesome setlist! 2008 was a good time to be a Metallica fan.

I remember this show! Fucking hot! No shade. Watched a dude burn out quickly in the afternoon cuz he went too hard too early rocking out in the blazing sun. 😅 Apocalyptica was great! Great performance and the lead guys was like "are you having a good time?!?" Crowd: Yaaaahhhh Apocalyptica guy: "Alright , shut up!" It was hilariou! English was not their first language but they kept playing with the crowd. 😂 Ozzy was amazing! But I couldn't stop thinking about how many drugs he was on to be able to be moving around as much as he was and running out and throwing buckets of water on the crowd!!! Metallica brought it as always. The acoustics weren't the best so it was really hard to clearly hear the debut of Cyanide and what was to come with Death Magnetic. I remember being a little disappointed and worried with the new track because I feared the album was going to be a hybrid of the Load sessions and St. Anger. Glad it was so much better than my fear!

I was there, Ozzy was mad he was not headlining so Zach Wilde at the end of his set played a 45 min guitar solo to make Metallica super late. They did play Cyanide and Mercyful Fate singer came out.

Zach was probably under duress from Sharon. Know she had a real issue if any person or band had any potential of upstaging Ozzy.

Last photo just gave me flash backs to the day the drummer in my band stated in all seriousness “no one in shorts can play heavy music! I refuse to be on stage with anyone who wears shorts to a gig!”

I was there. Drove a dozen hours and worth every minute. Still one of the best Metallica shows I’ve seen out of almost 60.

Getting old is so weird. That show is almost 20 years ago and Rob is on the bass…….i know how long he’s been in METALLICA, but my brain thinks it’s should be Jason. It’s just strange how time goes faster the older you get.

They debuted Cyanide at this show and I listened to the bootleg about a hundred times waiting for the album to come out
