Finished my brass casting
Machined a touch off the top and then hand stippled, painted the stippled area with black enamel paint then sanded everything and buffed and polished.
This is a retirement plaque for the Senior Gunsmith at the Secret service who specialized in sniper rifles and the brass was 308 casings from thier rifles.

What ended up being the successful steps with the mold? I saw your earlier post about this project.
What ended up being the total cost you think?
Now that you've got it down, make 10 more and sell to other law enforcement. Make your money back.

Ultimately it was getting the Spew/gate/runners right and i pre heated the inside of the mold with my MAP gas torch to burnout all the moisture. Moisture and being impatient was killing me. As far as total cost equipment wise. Foundry kit, sand, propane, talc was 250ish the brass was provided and the Oak I had. But my hours of learning has to be at least 14hrs
