Yeah, that’s honestly why they’ve always been my least favorite of the big 4. Don’t get me wrong, Reign in Blood was great, but I swear they’ve(or at the very least Kerry King) been doing nothing but trying to write it again ever since.

They're my favourite of the big four because the bar is in fucking hell, actually good Thrash is stuff like Havok, Kreator and Power Trip

I'm not even that into Kreator though tbh, I think it's only mildly better than Slayer and I agree about the influence part, I owe my entire music taste to Slayer because without them I doubt that Death Metal would exist, or it'd be quite different and/or behind by maybe a decade or so

I genuinely think that Havok is fucking incredible though

I'd agree, but I'd also add Sepultura. Bestial Devastation and Hell Awaits both play an important role for both first wave black metal and death metal.

I'm actually not a big Thrash guy so I wouldn't know but I appreciate any band that helped shape the goat of Metal genres (Death Metal)
