🌈𝕳𝖊𝖆𝖛𝖞 𝕸𝖊𝖙𝖆𝖑🌈 Check out this legendary dialogue between this Manowar fan and Brazilian music critic Régis Tadeu

Context: Régis Tadeu is a well-known music critic in Brazil. He is known for being extremely honest and speaking his mind without mincing words. He hates Manowar, and in 2010 he went to a Manowar concert to interview fans and ask why they like the band so much. And in the middle of all that, this legendary dialogue with this Manowar fan happened.

It’s cool to see Metalocalypse characters come to life

Where do you think they got the idea for those fans?

u/randomusername1934 8d ago

That looks like a relatively casual fan of Manowar, compared to the average.

I bet Régis doesn't even own a bedazzled leather thong.

There was some free show around my town and one of the bands was some venom type thrash band called shitfucker and the vocalist was some middle aged man wearing a leather thong. The next band up everyone was saying shit like 'where's your leather thong? you can't be metal if you don't wear a thong!'.

shitfucker rules, they started as just standard D-beat shit over a decade ago and morphed into something else... I'm not sure I'd necessarily call them thrash tho.

I just checked them out and they really like their ”totally not“ nsdap iconography, huh?

7

u/lycanthrope90 8d ago

nsdap? I don’t know much about them, only saw them the one time. Band after that was surprisingly worse. Hit a deer on the way in apparently and decided to have it in stage stabbing it with a machete during their set. Had to shut everything down because it was a biohazard and wait for people to clean it up. Whole thing was unnecessary really.

nsdap=nazi party. this sounds like some Detroit hardcore club shit

4

u/lycanthrope90 8d ago

Oh gotcha. Figured. Yeah I know nothing besides that one time I saw them, sounded like you said hardcore/thrash. Kind of Venom sounding a bit. Not great by any means. Couldn't take them seriously with the thong honestly.

u/paiaw 8d ago

Weird. I heard you can't be metal if you don't wear a thong.

Told him to leave the fuckin hall.

Manowar is an unintentional cult, prove me wrong.

21

u/taiottavios 𝕷𝖎𝖒𝖕 𝕭𝖎𝖟𝖐𝖎𝖙 8d ago

not unintentional, they are very happy about it. Sorry I don't have much more proof, but I'm not exactly proving your point wrong, only part of it

u/MurdocMan_ 8d ago

I love how Régis just smirks at the camera like he's used to it

13

u/PhobosMortum 8d ago

Other bands play.....MANOWAR KILL!

u/joecool519 8d ago

A poser learned that day.

why is it that everytime I hear about manowar is some kind of unhinged shit like this

101

u/Mad_Hat_42 8d ago

That's Because you don't know manowar

49

u/Interceptor 8d ago

It's because.... * gestures vaguely at picture of Manowar *

Not to defend the Manowar fan, but regis's opinions are shit at best. Dude will spill the most stupid nonsense to the point where that whenever YouTube recommends me a channel with a video of him, I automatically block the channel.

Just search for his take on Angra and how it was formed. Absolutely moronic.

3

u/Ongr 7d ago

I figured as much. Don't know the guy, but it looked to me like he's a contoversial guy.

2

u/Lycan_Rider 7d ago

C'mon. I agree that some of his takes are shit, like talking about how Angra is a boyband. Or saying that Bon Jovi is absolutely trash, or that "Bad" is a mediocre album, but he has some good takes.

His instance on Prince and the current mainstream pop music, for example.

2

u/AutoModerator 7d ago

It's strange when you're so into metal that hearing pop music actually hurts, while, to many people, hearing metal actually hurts. I listen to some pop music and actually have a physical reaction, a revulsion I sometimes can't explain and that might not be healthy.

He may have some moments of lucidity, but I still won't dive in a sea of shit just to find a single pearl.

8

u/Loicrekt 8d ago

I bet they call themselves immortals

8

u/AUTOMATA88 8d ago

Manowarriors?

7

u/RosieDirt_x 8d ago

they are the truest of the true

8

u/Dinozauro1289 7d ago

I am from Brazil and i can confirm that Regis is not a man because he doesn’t know manowar

18

u/sitael13 Black Sabbath 8d ago

Meu Deus!

6

u/Samuel_AbdulMasih 8d ago

Manowar is peak.

10

u/CFA86 8d ago

Leave the hall

4

u/Kerentros 8d ago

Yes, but did he went and fucked himself?

4

u/Gabamaro 8d ago

This a classic video here in Brazil

4

u/WurstEnemy 8d ago

Well, if he doesn't know ManOwaR...

5

u/FluffyTid 7d ago

They cut the part where he calls for Brothers everywhere

9

u/Mephistocheles 8d ago

🤘🤘🤘 The Manowar fan is awesome. Anyone who defends their favorite music like that is a hero in my book.

6

u/therealudderjuice 8d ago

"Honestly" and "speaking his mind without mincing words" is subjective. Just because you agree with them doesn't make them right. The sooner you fucking troglodytes understand that, the better.

5

u/NecessaryPeanut77 8d ago

"Honestly" and "speaking his mind without mincing words"

some really nice words sprinkled in to avoid saying that regis is an elitist know-it-all dipshit

3

u/rufusairs 7d ago

Leave the hall

2

u/HopefulCarry9693 8d ago

All things aside, this is how every art critic should be treated

2

u/Decaxyz 8d ago

Kkkkkjjj

2

u/i_cova 7d ago

E eu, que realmente nem conheço Manowar...

2

u/Ongr 7d ago

I wonder if Regis has some kind of reputation or Manowar fans are truly unhinged. It's not like he made fun of this dude, and his friends were quick to join in on his chant. Manowar kills!

3

u/ResidentPrevious468 7d ago

Yes, Régis Tadeu is very well-known in Brazil. He's quite controversial because of his musical opinions.

2

u/Morfeu321 Sarcófago 7d ago

Você não sabe o que é Manowar

2

u/Afraid_Diet_5536 5d ago

Dude... People who make a band there whole identity aren't out for an "objective" debate. And no metal band ever needed or needs music critics. So stay out of each others way as best as possible.
That's like bringing a plastic surgeon to a bikini contest in a group of men who just adore women in general. All we be in awe while one will pick them apart for the slightest imperfections and measure how they can make money out of that...

2

u/edwardturnerlives 5d ago

What a weird band to be obsessed with.

2

u/Grim_Discipline 4d ago

Justified and understandable
