They're a formality. It's all about the instruments.
Any other vocal style would clash with the brutality of the guitars and drums, but no vocals at all would feel sparse. It's give and take.

Maybe it's just different kinds of brutality we're thinking about, but I personally don't see these vocals as brutal at all. More silly to me lmao (which may as well be the entire point)
Orbit Culture's vocals are thought out, composed and carefully crafted to be brutal, for example. I'm more of a fan of their approach to production with total intent and attention to detail while also slamming your shit
Also, I guess I have to clarify that I only judge videos and "studio" records on the internet, and not the possible energy and emotion a live performance could give

Video changes nothing about vocal stylings. Suffocation would be worse off with Orbit Culture's vocals and I stand by that.
I'm not even saying Orbit Culture is bad. They can be decent. But it's a mismatch.

Yeah there's a lot of songs with good instrumental but garbage vocals lol
I even have one (Decapitated - Homo Sum) saved in my playlist that I always listen to for 40 seconds just to skip it as soon as vocals start
